Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

No problems - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Chuck - December 27 - 2:13 pmOur Hyundai Santa Fe has been a remarkable vehicle. We now have 55k on it with the original tires having very much tread left. The only warranty problem was caused by a mechanic not putting an electrical plug back in properly. Weve had no problems at all and we dont buy another car as my wife doesnt want to sell this one. Might give it to our granddaughter next year.

Hyundai Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By halgsmith - December 26 - 10:10 amI like the Santa Fe 2.7L V6 very much. It is relatively quiet and handles well on curves, and the mileage I get is 20-22 around town and 26-28 on the highway. No long trips as yet. The steering is a little too responsive if you take your eyes off the road to adjust the AC or heating, or radio.

Love my Sante Fe - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Arbas - December 26 - 10:00 amI love my Sante Fe. Talk about fun to drive. My complaints are that I have yet to get 19 mpg in the city, Accelaration is a little sluggish also, and drivers seat adjustment knobs are awkward to use.

Love My Hyundai - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By John Pfeiffer - December 21 - 5:46 amI like the feel of the vehicle. I have a good view of the road and other cars near me. It steers responsively and can make a tight turn when you need to. The seats are comforable and there is plenty of leg room. Its peppy and can move out when you have to. The controls placement and interior design of compartments, etc. are great. We love it.

Not comfortable to drive - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Virginia Driver - December 18 - 7:26 pmI cannot get comfortable in the drivers seat. I love everything about it except driving it! Have had to replace tires too soon because of an alignment problem. Noticed the new tires wearing and checked the alignment and it was out just a tiny bit, dont know why my tires are wearing on the inside. There is a clunking noise under the front. I feel like something is going to fall off. Im thinking of trading it for a Forester. It has 65k miles on it and hasnt given me any real problems and it was great in the snow. Average 22 mpg, maybe 25 on interstate. I hate climbing in this vehicle. I just cannot get the seat adjusted to fit the steering wheel comfortably. It has great brakes and radio.

Nice car with more bang for the buck - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By skipperl - December 18 - 1:46 pmWell, replaced my 2001 Ford explorer Sport and this thing rocks. It has so many features its ridiculous. A ton room and storage areas, extra 12vdc plugs in various locations, the stereo is great once the equalizer is tuned up, the USB port works great with a normal usb cable. Its quiet, fast and the ride is very smooth with the 3.3 L. The blue lights are just like my VW dash, nice. The interior is really upscale, very comfortable. The back seats have plenty of room and the recline with a nice little arm rest back there too. Rear cargo space is more than my Ford and the under mat storage in great to have. Sharp body design. You cant get a SUV for this $ with all these features.

Works great in the snow - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By tef - December 18 - 1:10 amThis Santa Fe handles snow conditions great. I deliver papers on gravel roads and use this on snowy days. I have zero worries about getting stuck in the snow. Only once have I been stuck. I drove into a 3 foot high drift and drifted toward the roadside. I got wedged against the road bank. If you need a SUV for the winter conditions, this is it. Other than in severe conditions I prefer my V6 Camry.

Awful - 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Carrera - December 17 - 5:12 pmWe recently purchased a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T Ultimate and i am so very sorry. We do a lot of interstate driving and the wind noise is unbearable. It also gets pushed around even on a day that is not windy. The turbo is inadequate and spacey. The stereo is awful - all highs no lows.
