Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Execellent SUV to drive and ride in - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

As this is the first SUV that I have owned it is a very comfortable and pleasurable vehicle to drive.I purchased this vehicle on 03/16/04 and went thru 2or3 snow storms with it and the awd and traction control worked perfectly.I now have over 10,000 miles on the Santa Fe with no complaints.Back to the dealer for one minor recall and oil changes every 3,000 miles. This is the second Hyundai I own.

  • Saved My Life - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

Although I cannot attest to the logevity of this vehicle (as I only had it for about 6 months) I can definetly say that it is extremely safe. I was in a head on collision on my way to work one morning, hit by a lifted 90-something Ford F-250 going about 60+ miles/hr. This Santa Fe did exactly what it was designed to do by crumpling the engine area, and other than the fact that the front end of the vehicle was smashed like an accordian, the rest of cabin area and the car was completely fine. I only walked away with a small break in my ankle, which was from me bracing myself as I tried to brake. I, as well as the paramedics on site, believe whole-heartedly that this vehicle saved my life.

  • Comparable with Honda - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I absolutely love my new 2007 Santa Fe. I have purchased several Honda Vehicles and I love this one more. It has a smooth ride, beautiful interior and love the new redesigned exterior. This SUV handles wonderfully. You will enjoy it and the price and warranty is the best part of all!

  • A Teachers Dream Comes True - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

I love my new Hyundai Santa Fe. There is plenty of storage for my school books, bookbag, posters, etc. On to the grocery store and still enough room for my groceries. We love traveling in my Santa Fe. The two Chihuahua cages fit perfectly in the back and a roll-down shield to protect them from the sun, what more could I ask. The students love my new vehicle. Thank you Hyundai for my "totally awesome ride".

  • Great Automobile! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is by far the best car that weve ever owned, and Im not just saying this because my husband helped build it.It really is. Everyone who rides in it comments on the smooth ride and how quite it is. So far Ive been averaging about 21 mpg (in-town/ highway), which is about what I expected. Weve only had the car for about 3 months, but weve taken it on 2 trips. Preformed excellently on both. I love this car, and to be honest, I feel a little sorry for anyone who isnt driving one.

  • Great SUV - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

I love my Santa Fe. I have been looking at them for a while and thought I would like one and went to the dealership and they had a preowned one fully loaded. It has everything I have never had. It has alot of room. I like sitting up off the ground rather then on the ground in a regular car. I will probably not go back to a regular care after having a SUV. The price was great for all the features. I probably would have spent well of $23 for all the features this has. I have been very satisfied.

  • Good Bang for the Buck - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have over 5000 miles on this vehicle and I love it. It handles well, rides well for an SUV and has a quiet interior. That was important to me as my previous Honda CRV drove me crazy with road noise. It is a sexy looking vehicle as well. Gas mileage is not bad for the weight of the vehicle. I get 18-19 city and 22-23 highway at 75-80 mph. Highway mileage increases dramatically to 25- 26 if you travel at 70 mph. I must qualify this by saying that I live in southern AZ where the roads are flat with little hill climbing.

  • So far, so good - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Just passed the 1200 mile break in period. Present mileage is at 20 mpg, combined city and highway. Not sure however as I have not had a complete highway trip yet. Like the interior, instrument cluster well designed and easy to access. The 2.7 liter has more pickup than engine size would lead you to believe. Minor problem with seat belt retractor, corrected by dealer.

  • I LOVE MY SANTA FE - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I purchased my Santa Fe in 2003, I now have 145,000 miles on it. I replaced the tires at 95,000 and the timing belt at 125,000. My wonderful little SUV sees the dealership only at scheduled maint. as I have not had any problems with it at all. And as my daughter says ... I will drive it until the doors fall off. If I had to purchase another car it would be another Santa Fe!! Very roomy and comfortable on long trips.

  • Reliable, trouble free so far! - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I just turned 95,000 miles on my 2004 Santa Fe. No problems so far except normal maintenance: windshield wiper blades every 2 years, tires every 4 years-usually worn out by then, change oil every 6 months or 6-7000 miles for conventional or 7-10000 miles on synthetic. I changed the transmission oil twice (drain and fill) at 40k miles, and again at 80k miles). Oh, I changed both front bulbs after one of the bulbs burned out at around 70k miles. Replaced front and rear brakes and rotors at 85k miles. I will do the timing belt sometime soon. No problems! Best car I have owned so far.
