Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

This Is the One! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Clancy - January 25 - 1:53 amIf you can find anything close to a match for this vehicle.....good luck. For the price the Hyundai Santa Fe cannot be beat. The looks, styling, handling and performance are outstanding.

The gas prices being what they are its costing more than I want for a week. I love the amount of room it has. I neede to carried something large and the ease of putting the back seat down was so easy.

First Time Hyundai Santa Fe Owner - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Richard_in_VA - January 23 - 5:16 amWe recently purchased a 2010 Santa Fe GLS with Nav. Generally, we are pleased with the car. The fit and finish is very good and the car is rich in features. Its a very pleasant car; competent but not excellent. I have some concerns over how well the car will age - time will tell. One thing I am disappointed over is the gas mileage; we are averaging about 21 mpg in mixed driving. We had hoped for a bit better considering our GLS is the four cylinder version.

Second Hyundai - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Hyundai owner - January 22 - 1:10 amWe purchased this car one year ago after looking at RAV-4, CR-V, Escape, Murano, Rogue, and Tuscon. We might not have ever considered it except we have a 2000 Hyundai Accent that has been fantastic. This is pretty much my dream car. It has 99% of the features I really wanted (leather, sunroof, wheel-mounted audio controls, CD/MP3 with changer, blue lights...just missing the auxiliary jack which I hear they now have on the 2009 model). My husband and I actually mistook it for a Lexus in a Target parking lot a few months after we bought it. The interior materials are top-notch and I actually like the firm ride.

Problems with Blower Control Knob - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Chris K - January 21 - 7:30 pmI actually like my 2004 Santa Fe which I purchased new back in May of 2004. I have a problem that I cannot resolve. Each year I have a problem with my blower control knob. The blower starts to run only on one level and eventually stops altogether. It has cost me several hundred dollars each time I have had this fixed only to be back in the same situation the next year. Right now I have been only able to use my heat or A/C on high because it wont work on any other level. Thanks, TOO HOT OR TOO COLD

Not really pleased - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By tjpswoosh - January 21 - 9:13 amBought the Santa Fe after quite a bit of research. Cant tow even close the half of the listed weight, listed a 19 gallon gas tank, can only put 17 in bone dry. Already have a leak that needs to be repaired on the timing cover. Was told it is an issue they are having with the 3.3 engines. Lots of bang for the buck but not happy with there already being mechanical issues.

Great vehicle - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By gogrego - January 19 - 7:56 pm23,000 flawless miles! Well almost. Its only been back to the dealer once after about 2000 miles to reset the check engine light. It hasnt come back on since. Also, the auto climate control got stuck on 68 degree outdoor temp and they fixed that. Theres a TSB on it. Since that time all Ive done is change the oil. I also pull a 3000 lb small travel trailer with it occasionally. Pulls it great. Very stable. MPG with trailer is 10-13. MPG without trailer= city 17-18 / Hwy 22-25. The best mpg I ever got was a long trip locked on cruise on a fairly flat road going 65 to 72 mph max. It averaged 25.6. On the trip back I went 75-80 and it got 23.5.

New owner - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Nadine59 - January 16 - 2:00 amI have always drove a larger american model of 4wd suvs. I fell in love with the Santa Fe and felt real comfortable in buying the Santa Fe as my husband and I spoke to strangers that owned the Santa Fe and have found that no one had anything bad to say about the vehicle. We were sold!

Losing my Santa Fe hurts! - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Ellen - January 14 - 11:50 pmOf all of the vehicles that I have ever owned and/or driven I would choose my Santa Fe. I bought it new in 2002 and it was totaled in an accident with my 20 yr old driving in May 2010. There were 5 people in the car when the accident happened and other than bruises (seat belt & my daughters knee hit the dash) they were all fine. I always felt very safe driving/letting my daughter drive it. The car was reliable, fun, comfortable and could carry almost anything that I could possibly bring home including some huge rocks that I absolutely had to have. I was absolutely devastated when they told me that it was totaled! I would have driven this car for a long time yet. Boohoo, I miss my Santa Fe!
