Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

After getting two Elantras for my children, I knew I wanted another Hyundai. The new Santa Fe (holy faith) with the new four cylinder engine has given me 28 MPG on my road trips. The fold down seats in the rear have also allowed me transport sizable cargo. To go along with the decent MPG and cargo space, I got a price that I could afford (OTD at $22,500).

I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe LX model that is awesome. One of our favorite features are the heated leather seats. We just love everything about our new SUV. Its quiet inside, nice ride, plenty of room. Took it on vacation and put a car carrier on top, it was wonderful. Like all its features, cant think of anything Hyundai missed.

You have to drive it. So many people stare at this SUV. It rides beautiful. Turns great. There is so much room. Sterio is good and It is getting about 22 miles per gallion. No problems just a smoth ride with heated seats and a great view of the road. I have LX front wheel drive model. Love it. Kept my BMW and got this SUV. Tested every other SUV. Did like the Lexus. But love this SUV.

  • Definitely NOT worth $30,000 - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

I chose my brand new Santa Fe over a used Lexis with 15K miles. WORST mistake ever. Just a months after owning it I had to have the carpet replaced twice and bumper repainted because paint was peeling off. Now after 20K miles the dash is peeling and the leather seats have rubbed down to nothing leaving a rip in the driver seat. Im 54", weigh 120lbs but they say its not covered under warranty because Im not entering my car the right way. The latches on the third row seat broke and had to be replaced. Im scared what the value is going to be if I decide not to keep it.

I have really enjoyed my Santa Fe in the month Ive owned it. It has a wonderful smooth ride. My other vehicle you got jousled when you went over rough roads or bumps this is exceptonally smooth. It came with alot more standard equipment for the price and the warranty is great too!

This SUV is the best deal on the market today. It is great to drive and has a ton of power. The interior is very comfortable and the in dash 6- cd changer rocks! I cant say enough good things about this vehicle. I am a very happy customer.

  • Best car ive owned, too ! - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought my 2002 SantaFe in that year brand new. Its been very reliable and ive babied the car on doing maintenance which i do myself. It routinely gets a combined 21 MPG with 23 on the Highway at 70 mph. It is very peppy and in fact, the front tires will spin from a start if you take off real quick. I upgraded the crummy LongTrail Tires to Michelin LX Tires and went from 225s to 245s -- the extra width makes it handle superbly and they dont rub on anything. The Factory radio / tape/ cd player went out at 75,000 miles so i went with a new Pioneer from BestBuy. Other than that, i had a Temperature Sensor go out around 80,000 miles...and thats been it for failures. Its been good.

As a long-time Honda driver, Ive found a new favorite brand. Dont let anyone else judge the Santa Fe’s style for you - decide that for yourself You cant beat the price/warranty. After 4 months I have zero complaints. It is tightly put together and quiet even at highway speeds. The trim is modest, practical, and, more for your money than youd expect. It’s obvious the Santa Fe isnt exactly overpowered. Test drive it against other vehicles with other adults onboard and decide if you can live with the pick up,Price, style, quality, warranty, and crash test ratings more than make up for power.
