Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • the best SUV choice on the market! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I tested Honda CRV and Toyota RAV 4 before I tested the 2007 Santa Fe. What a sharp contrast: the Santa Fe had better interior and exterior design and better build quality. I have already put 65,000 kms on this SUV, not a single problem has been noticed. Last year, Vancouver BC had the worst snow in 4 decades, my Santa Fe was fabulous in snow, and brought me to almost every where without difficulty. Besides the quality and design, keep in mind, this model has won top safety award in the US. Many people actually dont know that this model was designed by the global top engineers. The chief designer who designed Santa Fe now is the chief designer for Mercedes Benz in North America!

Just bought the V6 car more than a month ago. Ive done some research before I bought the Santa Fe. Now, I know I make the right decision. Good price deal with so many standards/options. Well-built, comfort- interior, and smooth-drive. The whole family like it much.

We bought this vehicle as a demo unit (it had about 2800 miles on it). 10,000 miles later and several trips and weve found it to be a very useful car that has a different look and some impressive features for the price. The gas mileage seems a little on the poor side (it gets worse mileage than my 94 GMC Jimmy which has a bigger engine) but the overall ride is satisfactory. The AWD is impressive and although I wouldnt take our Santa Fe for any serious off-roading, I would trust it to handle most mud and gravel driving without serious problems. Parking in the city with this car will take some getting used to as it doesnt turn sharply...which weve found to be the only major handicap.

  • Best value SUV for the price - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

I live in the midwest and our winters are brutal, so I had saved up about $4,000 to buy a used SUV that I could drive during snowy treks. Found this SUV with 100,000 miles for only $3K, with minor issues (heater didnt work, check engine light). Heater was easy fix, I passed e-check with some Seafoam, and have been driving for two months and love it. Snowed real bad last night, and felt very safe all the way home from work. Interior is boring but everything you need, handles well, fun to drive. Looked at older CRVs that had higher miles and that cost about a grand+ more. Very happy with this vehicle, and hope to drive it for another 100,000 miles.

  • We made a good purchase - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

We bought this Santa Fe about a month before making a 2000 mile trip back to Ohio. It was three years old when we bought it and had 32,000 miles. After driving it 6,000+ miles so far, I have to say it is the most comfortable vehicle I think I have driven to date (Im 63, 57" 150#). The display for the air conditioning/heating is rather hard to see while driving, but functions well. We get about 16-18 around town, and the first time I checked it on our trip, we got 27mpg @ 75mph with the air on! I like the way it handles but it is a wee bit top heavy, but it has never been a problem. The only negative comment I have is the gas pedal; it seems sluggish, then suddenly leaps forward.

This is my second Santa Fe (I previously owned a 2004) and I still love this vehicle after 3 years! Although I did not get the third row seat this vehicle is very roomy for my needs. I like sitting up high and I still enjoy driving this vehicle and will keep it for a few more years. The only issue I have had is I needed to replace my tires already and found out that 18 inch tires for this vehicle are fairly rare and expensive. I also had a sensor that went bad, but is was covered under the warranty. I do not regret getting the special outer/inner coating that has helped keep the outside and inside looking fresh and smelling brand new. I wish it had an MP3 hook up.

  • Electrical system - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I have had serious issues with numerous sensors that make the vehicle impossible to inspect. According to the dealer there also appears to be a short in the air bag and they cant say for sure if it works. The dealer refuses to fix any of the electrical problems because it has 70,000 miles. As far as I am concerned the car is worthless.

  • Power steering pump - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

We had to replace our power steering pump at about 10,000 miles. because of a winding noise coming from it at start up. at 11,000 the noise had returned. Other than that vehicle is very comfortable. and responsive. I really love the new body style.
