Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Hyundai doesnt honor its warranty - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just found out that Hyundais "best warranty in America" is bogus. They claim a faulty power window is an "adjustment item". The fact is it is not functional because of faulty design.

Bought a gls v6 in summer of 2001, so far no problems at all with vehicle. It drives like a champ. Had a couple of minor censor recalls but thats all. Now have 41,000 miles on vehicle. Drives great in snow & very comfortable drive. We have two kids & strollers and everything fits well. Highly recommended

  • My new car! - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Just bought my first new car in 28 years! I had been looking at the Santa Fe SUV for 2 years. Matt was great and very informative and I was able to secure a very good deal.

Great vehicle. Got the LX with the moon roof option. Researched SUVs for the last year. The Santa Fe by far had the most features and the best warranty. Ive not been disappointed in anything. Took a trip the week after I got it and it held four suitcases and golf clubs in the cargo area. My wife (who doesnt particularly like SUVs) liked the ride and said the stereo was better than the one in her Pontiac Bonneveille. Fit and finish are great, and dealer has been super. Comments about being under powered are not tru. Cruised on interstate at 80 without a problem. Only option I didnt get was towing package. Definitely my best car ever.

  • noise issue - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just bought used 2009 Santa Fe pads and rotors replaced by dealer 1 wheel bearing 2 new tires after about a week it is making a clunking noise when braking and still getting the annoying howling noise from back dealer is going to replace the other wheel bearing but the clunking noise is a concern of course they said they didnt hear it any suggestions? I had my car for just over 2 years and the timing chain went still had bad wheel barings ended up junking the car (killed me) I loved my car feel the dealer sold me a car with issues. I still owed on it too... Bought a 2016 Hyundai Elantra. (Not my SUV) but a newer year.

  • Best Hyundai Ever - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

So far so good! I love the comfort of the vehicle and cant beat the interior designed. But with standard stafty features this is one of the safest suv to buy, espeacially with a family.

  • Very Satisfied - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Drove from Denver to Dallas and averaged 23 MPG. Not bad for a AWD. I am 63", 300lbs and never felt uncomfortable behind the wheel. My friends found the back seat comfortable when reclined.

  • Fix the brakes - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai has continued to build more stylish vehicles, improve quality, and keep prices reasonable. This suv compares in options to the more expensive Lexus and Acura, but at a more reasonable price. Of course, its not equal in quality , materials, and status as the forementioned. Safety is the main concern for me. This suv is filled with safety devices from the air bags to the drivetrain. Im waitng for the side impact crash results. The one area of concern is the very long stopping distance. Im cinfident Hyundai will correct this problem.

  • I LIKE IT - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I JUST TRADED A VANILLA 2001 JETTA THAT I LOVED FOR A VANILLA SANTA FE. SO FAR I AM IMPRESSED WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. I THINK I MADE A GOOD DEAL. I GAVE UP A THING OR TWO BUT GOT BACK A THING OR THREE. MY FIRST TANK OF GAS WAS 20 MPG BUT I EXPECT THAT TO GET HIGHER. I LIKE BEING UP HIGH WHERE I CAN SEE THE TRAFFIC BETTER.
