Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Didnt think I would ever own a Hyundai - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

My wife talked me into looking at this vehicle. To avoid a conflict, I gave it a token look. It blew my negative expectations away. I went back several times, each time looking for something negative. I simply couldnt find anything wrong. We also looked at the Mazda Tribute. The interior of the Tribute looked like a Ford pick-up from the 80s compared to the Santa Fe. I am very pro Honda and Toyota, this is right there with both of them. So far I am still in shock at the great sense of value I get each time I drive it. While I was waiting for them to clean my new Santa Fe up to take it home, the salesman threw me the keys to a 2003 Tiburon. Wow, that just may be my next purchase.

This is my first SUV, every winter I wish I had a 4-wheel drive so I researched online and decided on the Santa Fe. Very glad I did, I love it! Ive gotten a lot of compliments. I already owned an Elantra so I got the owner loyalty rebate along with the special incentive rebate that was going on at the time.

  • From like to LOVE in a month :) - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

Absolutely LOVE this SUV! Got a black Limited w/black leather. Traded up from an 06 GLS and couldnt be happier. Cannot understand for the life of me why people are comparing this to the cheap-looking Rav4 and CR-V. Parked next to a black 11 Highlander Limited yesterday and got LOTS of looks and attention! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the black leather and the new woodgrain trim is absolutely stunning. The cabin is plush and luxurious. Navigation works great and 12-speaker sound system is PHENOMENAL. The new V6 will plant you into your seatback if you push it, but weve got light feet :) Very roomy, lots of storage, and perfect size...not too big and not too small. Its perfect :)

  • Do Not Buy This Car - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I bought this car and two days later it needed an alignment. Two weeks later the drive shaft had a defective washers. About a 6 weeks later the engine mount broke. Not to mention the window molding falling off. And now it makes a noise everytime I pull into my driveway, I was told it was the ABS and that it just makes that noise. Save yourself time and money, shop for a different vehicle.

I have had absolutely no problems with my Santa Fe during the first year of ownership. It has a well thought out interior for space and is a comfortable long road trip experience.

  • Service concern - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have had to sevice the check engine light 8 times in less than a year..Since there is an excellent warranty for Hyundais, I have no expense but my time and effort without my vehicle during these service times is almost not worth having the Santa Fe. I bought my Santa Ff for $22,000 at 459 $ payments

I bought an 06 and put 48000 miles on it. I had 0 problems with it and told anybody who would listen how much I loved it. I didnt even replace a taillight! I just got an 08 and its even better. Steering is lighter and braking is better. Acceleration is better. Interior is much nicer! Easier to operate controls and nicer console. I loved my truck so much I went to work for Hyundai selling them. My enthusiasm for Hyundai wins customers over!
