Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Wonderful SUV, cant do better - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

We test drove a lot of small, mid SUVs. Had a Jeep Liberty nearly blow up on the road from a gas leak, loved the RAV-4 and CR-V. Finally went to Vermont to see the Santa Fe; wow this car beat all the others on the first drive. Has everything you want, front wheel drive, with all wheel drive sending power to rear wheels when needed, V6 to tow our boat, great styling and interior, KILLER stereo, THIS VEHICLE ROCKS. It has the best feature Ive ever seen on an SUV, a shiftronic system to allow down or upshifting at any time (such as on a hill pulling a boat). Bought the car on the first test drive and Ive never bought before without at least two trip to the dealer to haggle over price.

  • Great bang for the buck - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

We purchased this car for my wife - who wanted a new car, but really only cared about looks. She really wanted the Lexus, but was out of our price range. Since our purchase, she is unbelievably happy. For that matter, so am I. The car drives great, handles decent, has a GREAT turning radius, with an easy to learn interior. I just hope the long-term owning experience is as pleasureable as the immediate. We opted not to get the sunroof - it seemed like it added substantial cabin noise while test driving.

  • Super Value - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I checked many cars, and Santa Fe felt better than any of them for less money. I had a difficult time getting over the name "Hyundai", but I am glad I did. I saved myself a lot of money and I have a great car!!!! More I drive this car more I like it. I still get stunned every time I turn how tight the turning radius is. I just added the "premium package" and enjoy my moon roof on "top" of everything else this car has. Its a great crossover SUV that drives like a luxury car but has plenty of storage and power of the SUV.

  • Excellent upgrade over previous model - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I traded in a 2010 Santa Fe Limited FWD which was fully loaded for the 2013 GLS AWD. The car is a serious upgrade in every way. The external styling is much improved. The internal styling is also lovely, with much improved materials, backup camera and navigation system. The biggest improvement is in the overall ride and quietness. The previous model was quite noisy and you felt every imperfection in the road. This model is as quiet as a luxury sedan and goes over bumps very smoothly. Also, the previous model exhibited serious understeer when accelerating. This one does not, probably due to the AWD. So far, Im getting better than advertised gas mileage.

  • Good choice among SM SUV - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Generally, I like my 2005 Santa Fe. I drive in city mostly, so, it has enough power for me. Not so good when going uphill. If I could choose again, Id buy the 3.5L instead. Good sound quality. Excellent steering, suspension and smooth ride for normal driving. Big trunk space. Beware of dealers overcharging on fees other than the car price.

I am very impressed with my new Santa Fe The gas mileage for a 6cyl, 3.5 engine is 22-24 mpg (fwd). The car has plenty of power and handles very well in the mountains. You can make a u turn in no space at all. The vehicle comes with everything you need without being nickel and dimed to death.

Excellent value for the money. Good overall quality and fun to drive. Many extras that would cost more on competitive models, plus you cannot beat the warranty and free roadside assistance.

  • Excellent - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have just bought the Santa Fe for my wife and newborn son and I am amazed by the high quality and luxury features. Unbeatable price, big warranty, and better trim level. Was initially considering Toyota Highlander, but disapointed with price and low quality on test drive. Was starting to consider smaller SUVs with better trim, but was unable to scape the Santa Fe. My brother has a Tucson for 2 years now and he also loves his car. I guess we will be a hyundai family.
