Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

very satisfied - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By john - July 30 - 1:43 pmI test drove or looked at other small SUVs. I purchased the Santa Fe Limited. The 3.3 liter engine is the best choice as appose to the 2.7 liter engine. My mechanic told me that the smaller engine is just a hiped up four cylinder engine. Even though the gas mileage suffers some what. The added power was worth it to me. I love driving this truck. it handles like a car and rides smoothly. After two plus years, the firm ride has loosened up a bit. Ive driven it from New York to Soutn Carolina, to Montauk Point and Orient Point from Western Nassua. Also four trips to Maryland. The Santa Fe had good manners at highway speeds. It did not drift like others have reported. I love everything.

This SUV cannot be beat - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By schmoejoe - July 25 - 4:06 amAfter about 1,500 miles I can honestly say that I have never purchased a better vehicle than the 2002 Santa Fe LX FWD. This car has every luxury amenity you could ask for and I cost me less than $22,000. The handling and peformance is terrific and after driving a 1999 Honda CRV for 3 years, it feels like I have really moved up in class. As one editor stated in the mini-SUV competition, if you like the way it looks(and I love it), dont even bother test driving the others.

Fantastic Car/SUV - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By TomJ - July 23 - 11:03 amStyling (controversial--but I like it!) and features got me past the raised eyebrows when I told people I was looking at a Hyundai; ride (and price) convinced me to buy it. After three weeks, I am still surprised at how solid and sensible the Santa Fe is--I have no problems with either the engines power or the firmness of the front seats (two areas that some reviews have questioned). It is built like something much more expensive, and it has a good (if incomplete) selection of "upscale" features. If you are looking at a small SUV, be sure to take the Santa Fe for a drive and discover what a change has occurred in Hyundai.

Fun to Drive - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By d in georgia - July 23 - 10:00 amI just recently took a long trip 12hrs. worth of driving one way. I was 9 1/2 hrs. into the trip before my back ached. Used to be about 3 hrs max. Comfortable and easy to drive has the power needed to pass easily on the interstates. Thoughly enjoyed the trip this time.

New Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By jerrys - July 21 - 6:06 pmI love this SUV. I only have one complaint: On bright, sunny days, its hard to read the numbers on the speedometer unless you run with the lights on. I suggest that you do that, and then theres no problem reading it. Hyundai should consider redoing the display. Otherwise, the vehicle is such a super value for the money, Its really had to beat. I shopped extensively over one month, and nothing can compare for the price and features.

Still love my Santa Fe! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Mary - July 21 - 12:56 amI read these reviews when I considered buying a new Santa Fe in 07, so I am writing one to any prospective buyer. I have owned my Santa Fe for over 2 years and I still love it as much as the day that I bought it! In fact, it still drives and rides just like new. Cabin is quiet and comfortable and the paint has an unbelievable shine. I keep vehicles that I love and intend to drive my Santa Fe for many years to come. Thank you Hyundai for making a fantastic automobile.

Best Santa Fe Yet! - 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Cindy - July 19 - 5:00 amThis is the third Santa Fe I have purchased and by far the best! The comfort, ride and amenities are great. The new Santa Fe Ultimate is larger than previous vehicles and four adults can ride comfortably. The third row seating is great if you have little ones. Your front seat and backseat passengers can control their own heat/cooling, which is great - I like it warmer and others like it cooler, so everyone is happy. Havent had the chance to drive in the snow yet, but, if it is anything like the previous Santa Fes, I wont have a bit of trouble. Weather in Denver can get nasty in the winter, but the Santa Fes have always taken on the cold and snow like a champ. My only complaint would be the tires. I usually replace them, as they dont seem to have the tread for winter weather; other than that, I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone who needs a larger SUV.

I Love my Santa Fe!! - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By MDB - July 17 - 10:00 amThis IS a great vehicle for those looking for good performance and reliability in an SUV type vehicle. The exterior design is not squared off and "boxy" looking like many other SUVs, something that appeals to me. The price makes this an affordable vehicle for those who want a solid SUV at a great price.I looked at other models for months before choosing the Santa Fe. The few times it has needed service the localHyundai dealer has been great, even when the item is under warranty they have not tried to wiggle out of it like so many dealers do. I lfeel like I got a $30K SUV for under $20K after all my comparison shopping. I love my SantaFe
