This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been redesigned for the 2007 model year. Compared to last year's model, the new Santa Fe is larger, safer, more powerful and more luxurious.

Pros:
  • Upscale interior with high-quality materials, competitive price, long warranty, many standard safety features, optional third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Overly firm ride on SE and Limited trims, automatic transmission sometimes slow to respond, unimpressive brakes.

  • Dissapointed! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought the car new in November 2007. Having high hopes this would be the last car I would have to buy for a long time. I had the car in for the 15,000 mile maintenance in July 2009 and mentioned it had started making a roaring noise, more prevalent at lower speeds. I was told it was tire noise and the tires were feathering. I have had the tires rotated at the specified times why would they feather? If they are feathering at 15,000 miles somethings wrong! I have not been able to get any results from Hyundai as to the real problem. The car is also downshifting hard at 30 miles when coming to a stop. I dont think Ill be buying any make, model or type of Hyundai again.

After shopping for several months and renting several suvs, we found that the 2007 Santa Fe was head and shoulders above anything else in its price range and several thousand dollars above. It is quiet, well appointed, has a smooth (for an suv) ride, and so far has been a pleasure to drive. Would recommend anyone looking at mid-size crossover suvs to give the new Santa Fe a serious and close look.

We drove so many different vehicles, so many differnt times. This little SUV is awesome. We have two kids and they have plenty of room and we have plenty of space. When I first suggested Hyundia, I was doing it as a joke. I remember the "disposible cars" of the early 90s. My wife said she would not even test drive one. After I started to read the reviews I was amazed. After driving one...WOW. My wife loves it. I love to let her drive my F150 just so I can drive it. Drives better than her Maxima use to. Absolutely LOVE IT!!!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just bought my Santa Fe a few days ago and I cant stop smiling. I ruled the car out in the beginning of my SUV search because I didnt know the body style had changed this year. Originally went to look at the VeraCruz and quickly changed my mind. The 2007 Santa Fe is beautiful! The interior for the price is really what got me. I love the blue lights, touch of chrome, and wood accents. The dual climate control is awesome because I can be freezing when my boyfriends hot. I looked at every SUV out there: Mitsubishis, Hondas, Nissans, Toyotas, Jeeps. You name it, I looked into it. The Santa Fe was the first car I didnt have a single complaint about. I cant stop smiling when Im driving it!

  • Really disappointed - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Owned this car for a year & a half and have had nothing but problems. Sway bar bolts (or something to that effect) had to be replaced. A/C died -- need a new compressor ($1000+), and now we need new fuel level sensors. The most disturbing thing is our mechanic has told us that ALL of these problems are common with the 07 Santa Fe. We bought this car because of Hyundais great reputation, but I can tell you, were not impressed. Will never buy another Hyundai.

Our Santa Fe now has about 85,000 miles on it and so far so good. We have had no major (and very few minor) problems with the vehicle. Still no squeaks or rattles, runs great, no fluid leaks, solid feeling and quiet on the road. We hope to keep the vehicle well into the 100K mile range. Well see. Seems like Hyundai has done well on this model. I highly recommend it. My only regret is not getting the package that includes the 3rd row rear seat. Will do so next time.

This 2007 Santa Fe Limited awd is not only a pleasure to drive,It is Excellent on gas mileage for a mid size suv on a trip all thru upstate New York with the cruise control set I was able to get 25 mpg. Handling on the interstate highway and back roads was just as I expected And A bit more.

the front end had a pinching noise when the steering was compleatly turned in either direction, And the car was in a compleate u turn with weight bearing down on which ever side the wheel was turned might jus be an isolated fault,

This vehicle handles more like a fine tuned sport sedan, rather than a mid sized SUV. So far, with just a few hundred miles on it, my gasoline mileage is at about 19 with most of it being highway speeds. I think this will improve over time.

  • Big Surprise - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Never thought I would own a Hyundai but thought I might look at End-of-Year deals on 2006 model. Brand new 2007 still in srink wrap caught my eye. The 2007s arrived the day before so I got to try one. Bought it the next day. Loved it ever since. Tried Honda CRV (Too noisy, slow and cheap looking) and Pilot (nice, but pricy and a bit too big). If Hyundai proves reliable over time, then Watch Out Honda! Theres a new game afoot. My eldest daughter(37) thought it was a new Acura SUV. My youngest daughter(25) wanted to go out and replace her 2005 Santa Fe immediately.
