This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been redesigned for the 2007 model year. Compared to last year's model, the new Santa Fe is larger, safer, more powerful and more luxurious.

Pros:
  • Upscale interior with high-quality materials, competitive price, long warranty, many standard safety features, optional third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Overly firm ride on SE and Limited trims, automatic transmission sometimes slow to respond, unimpressive brakes.

  • Awesome Machine - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Had less than 1,000 miles on our Santa Fe when we took her on vacation to Gatlinburg, Tn. We rented a cabin in the woods and when we found where it was located we were concerned about how our new vehicle would handle all the very steep hills. Our Santa Fe handled the mountainous roads flawlessly and with the shiftronic feature it was a piece of cake. We even took her on The Dragons Tail, one of the most famous roads for hairpin turns and steep curves. We love everything about this vehicle, the design, the way it handles, I think it is the best built vehicles Ive ever owned. Its been a while since I felt this way about an automobile!

I just made it to 1,200 miles for the proper break in period. The Santa Fe has performed better than I expected, and I am averaging 20 mpg.It is great fun to drive. I get compliments from eveybody I know.I am suprised that every one thinks I bought a Lexus SUV. Congratulatios Hyundai!

  • In the service shop all the time - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

My car has rattled in the back end and I was told at 20,000 miles I need two new struts. This did not solve the problem and I still have the rattle. I also have had my check engine light on several times and the last time it was blinking. I have had the fuel pump replaced in it also. I had to have knew tires at 22,000 miles because it was out of lined. I bought the car with 8000 miles on it and I feel that this was a damaged program car! I love the car, the room it has in it, and my sun roof, but have been unhappy with it breaking down all the time!

  • Catalytic Converter Gone Already? - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I was first impressed, but quickly disappointed. After owning the vehicle for 2 weeks, the rear right tail light had built up condensation. Then the check engine light came on and found out that the Catalytic converter was bad....how can that be? I do not even have 8 thousand miles on the vehicle and I am dumping it. Oh yeah...one more thing...the stupid visor on the passengers side fell completely off...just hanging by a few wires.

  • My favorite car so far - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I have been watching the 2007 Santa Fe much of this year and have been impressed with the reviews, with Hyudais company performance, and with the assembly plant in Alabama. After seeing one live and driving it, I was sold. My criteria for a vehicle was safety, comfort and quiet, looks, and lastly fun to drive (in that order). The Santa Fe satisfies all of these quite nicely. Our other vehicle is a Lexus RX350, and the SF holds its own against it. The ride is smooth and it is extrememly quiet. Power is more than adequate for my needs. The fit and finish are great. The third row seats are much roomier and more comfortable that I had envisioned. They are super easy to get in and out of too.

The 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe is well made vehicle. We have had the SUV for over 2 years, we have experienced absolutely no problem. We would definitely buy another Hyundai.

  • Fabulous vehicle! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

We purchased our SE AWD back in March and just love it. Have had it on 2 long road trips, and it is so fun and comfortable to drive. I was a little reluctant about getting a Hyundai, but after owning the vehicle for 4 months, no regrets. We test drove the CRV and others, no comparison in value, features, and comfort. Many comments here about the poor interior lighting. Hyundai has corrected this on never production models, and they will fix older 2007 vehicles for free if you ask. My map lights now go on when the doors are opened. Great customer service from Hyundai USA on this.

  • A lot of car for the buck - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Ive only been in this car about 2 weeks, but, I love it. I just got out of an Infiniti G35X and it is just as fun to drive. This is my first Hyundai and Im very impressed. I have the mid- level SE version and it is a lot of SUV for the buck. My wife has a Jeep Liberty and the ride is harsh. This SUV rides like a dream. It is also roomier. You cant beat the warranty either. The earlier version has weaker lines and the redesign fits right in with what I wanted. The deepwater ocean blue is glittery in the sun and looks hot with the beige interior. Back deck, without the 3rd row seat, has small storage compartments and comes with a thick rubber mat to protect the back. Visibility is excellent.

  • The best bang for the buck to date - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

First, thank you Edmunds.com for your awesome video review on this vehicle. I watched it and went directly to the nearest dealer and test drove it. I was so impressed with the look and overall quality of the car, that I bought it on the spot. We got an 07 Ltd with just a sun roof, white pearl paint, and floor mats as options. The list of standard features is so long and impressive that I was blown away. This vehicle is built very well too. It feels as tight and handles as well as my old ML 430. Its got a wonderful solid feel on the road. The turning radius is amazing. The creature comforts are beyond good. I am still in shock that a vehicle this nice can be sold for this price. AWESOME!!!
