Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Luv my new car - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

I am extremely happy with this car. My prior car was a Subaru Outback sedan. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this car is much more comfortable and drives just as well. My only complaint was the dealership experience, which was absolutely horrible.

  • Near luxury, but a few flaws - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Santa Fe is a fantastic vehicle for its price. The leather seats are high-quality, the automatic climate control and audio system both work well, and of course, its loaded with features. While it handles well, it is definitely not "car-like" due to relatively high ground clearance and 18" wheels compared to other car-based SUVs.

  • Transmission Issues? - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Had the vehicle since Nov 01 (02 model). Possible transmission issues from the start. Had a transmission overheat (or something) in March 02. That may have started the ball rolling to a complete replacement in July of 03 (just after rolling 50K-per the dealership Svc Manager). Have trans oil checked/changed regularly to keep an eye open for any problems. Will come back and keep you posted. Otherwise, I am satisfied with the purchase, just may wind up being gun shy for a little while on the transmission problem.

  • Glad I Bought It!! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just love my Hyundai Sante Fe. I ended up getting the LX with all the bells and whistles and cant believe what I got for $19,000! I cant understand how the dealership is making any money off these. The ride is great, not big and bulky. I drive alot for work and I wanted a SUV, so my first need was a good warranty and with the 100,000mile bumper to bumper...how could I go wrong. I would definately buy another and recommend it to anyone. And as for any "sluggishness" that some have referred to, I dont understand what they are talking about. Its not a sports car!! I perky enough for me.

  • Love It - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought the Santa Fe with 35 000 miles. Now has 75 000 on it and runs like new. Goes great in the snow. Everything is tight, no squeaks or rattles. First SUV, and the next one will be a Santa Fe.

  • better than the Lexs - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

When I stated looking for a mid-size SUV, I narrowed down the choices to Rav4, Highlander, and Santa fe. Im so stoked that I drove the Santa fe first and last, I was sold and the warranty/pricing and craftmanship was icing on the cake. I have had it for 8 months and have over 25K already, mostly highway miles, and I get an unbelievable 25 MPH on Hwy and average 22 in the city. So if your dreaming Bout a midsized Suv, look no farther then the Santa fe

  • Even better than I thought it would be! - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Traded a 99 CR-V EX AWD for this model. Came with Option Pkg 3, and everything I could have wanted. Driving on long trips is perfect, good/bad weather makes no difference. Unflappable road manners. Hauls everything I want to carry and has more than adequate power. Fun to drive and does well whether its Manhattan traffic or cruising the turnpike. Added an iSimple Media Gateway to the excellent standard stock radio, allows iPod use via the steering wheel audio controls. iPod output is CD quality. I couldnt have asked for more in a vehicle.

I have driven my Santa Fe since September 2002 and, without any hesitancy, purchase another Santa Fe. Its maneuverability in town traffic and over the road is outstanding. Im been proud to recommend it to others.
