Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Great SUV with good gas mileage ! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Great SUV with good gas mileage. The Santa Fe has exceeded the expectations and continues to perform without flaw. This is a tough little SUV, and its not really made for serious off-road use. Its a comfortable car for larger sized people, most foreign automakers are made for smaller size of people, which makes it hard for most large American car buyers. This ones a keeper, so youll just have to find out for yourself, why these SUVs may just be one of the better keep secrets. But do not let anyone know just how good they are! Then the Hyundai Santa Fe will be a vechicle that everyone will be wanting and others will copy.

We bought the suv in Jan-04 and we love it!! It is not a tank but it is not a little bug either. For my husband who is 64 and my son who is to follow, it has enough room for the whole family. It handles very well.

i am 17 and my mom bought me this car almost a year ago and i have had no problems. i love the color and it rides very smoothly. at first i did not want a truck because i liked the feel of cars but this was perfect for me. it is high up but feels great to drive. it guzzles gas though! but maybe i just go out too much. but i am very happy with it and i am proud to show off my pretty blue truck.

  • If they made the stereo buttons bigger.. - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

Then I would have given this a 10 on the interior design. Those buttons are smaller than an ants nose, and the buttons work in a very non-intuitive way. Other than that and a couple of minor quibbles (see below), its great. This is the "other" car, with our main family vehicle being an Explorer. The Santa Fe is exactly what we wanted it to be.

  • Second Hyundai (first was 1986) - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

I come from a family very loyal to Toyotas and Hondas, but even I have to agree that today the South Koreans easily win on styling and features, and are barely a notch below the two Japanese heavyweights in terms of reliability. I purchased my Santa Fe 2.0T FWD about a month ago after extensive research. Very pleased with the purchase overall. Cant beat the value and it is true that this thing looks, feels, and drives like a European car. No surprise -- the chief design engineer was hired away from BMW and formerly designed the X5. I do mostly city driving on it and still have my second car, but so far so good. Gas mileage at 20mpg is terrible considering I dont drive aggressively.

  • Dollar for Dollar: Best Buy! - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought a used Santa Fe and within six months turned around and purchased a new 2005 Santa Fe LX. The power is perfect for the size and the gas mileage is great for an SUV. The car handles very well and has a sporty feel to it. It is easy to park and easy to drive. It is high enough for good clearance, but still stays on the road. The pricing allowed me to get all of the features I wanted for a very reasonable price. I am very pleased with this SUV and recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-sized SUV.

Next to a B210 (Datsun) I drove for years, this car is built to last! I cant say enough about it.

This is my second SantaFe. I thought the first one was great. (Passed it on to my college daughter and she loved it too.) Yhey have tweaked just enough things to make the 2004 noticeably better. Power steering is smoother than our 2001, heating/air conditioning system seems more efficient and easier to operate, stereo is improved. We were glad we had upgraded from the 4 cylinder to the 6 when we went through Colorado last week! Fuel economy is still a pleasant surprise for an SUV, maybe not record breaking but not budget breaking either!
