Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Outstanding value - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Test drove a Acura RDX, Honda Pilot, Toyota Rav4 and Hyundai Santa Fe. Settled on the Santa Fe and we are extremely happy with our choice. Suspension is awesome: much better than the RDX, Pilot and Rav4 that we test drove. Interior build quality is excellent. Dashboard layout is functional. No road noise on the highway. Vehicle has about 4500 miles on it and so far there have been no problems.

  • Best Car Purchase I have ever made - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

I read all the reviews for all the vehicles in this class and visited Ford, Nissan, Honda, Chevy, Buick, etc. This car is beautifully luxurious inside and a very comfortable ride. My husband hates suvs and admitted he really likes this car. A friend who owns a 2002 version summed up her experience with "I love this car as much as the first day I bought it" - thats 7 yrs of ownership. If you want luxury, reliability, fun drive, room for the dog and your kids friends, have comfortable ride for 5 adults-all staying in the mid 20,000 range -check out this car. I got my 2009 limited with nav and 12 miles for 26k. I dont think anyone can beat Hyundai these days-I was just as surprised as you are!

  • Problem with leak / wet passenger side floor - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

My wife and I just purchased the 6 seat Santa Fe 2013 that arrived last week. We had looked at the sport but waited on the larger model. So far we are pleased with the car, the appearance and technology are great. We have not had much time to road test it but have encountered a problem, the passenger side floor was wet after a day on road with the AC on, there was also a little water on the driver side. The dealer was closed and we are dropping it off today, no idea if this is related to the AC drain or evaporator yet. Not happy with the idea that much water was in the cab for at least a day, could cause rust and mold. I will post after we find out what happened

  • so far so good - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

I purchased this Santa Fe new in March of 2009. I have had it for 3 months. The ride is smooth, the interior is well laid out, seats are comfortable. The only complaint I have is the acceleration from a stop is slow, seems like it drags, between first and second gear. Also, I have a rattle in the passenger rear and the dealer cant locate it, makes me a little crazy. I am getting on average 20.5 mpg. If you want a Nice suv for a good price check this one out.

And alot of people ask us all about it overall. My family loves this vechicle. Thank you for making suce a wonderful suv.Sincerly The Odland family.

  • Just one day in and I love it. - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Left from home convinced we were coming home in a Murano. We spent 2 hours at the Nissan dealership only to find that we would only be able to get a stripped down Murano in our price range. We went two miles down the road and stopped to drive a Santa Fe. I just couldnt believe how much SUV we got for the money. Bigger, more features, cheaper, and better safety rating than the Murano. Love putting my wife and 2 year old son in such a safe reliable vehicle. If safety is a priority, then you have to give this thing a look. Save the money, get the features. My step-mother turned us on to the Santa Fe when she traded in her Navigator for a 2009. She likes it better than her $50,000.

  • The others are overrated! - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

So far we have had all good experiences and it gets better gas mileage than in your ratings by a 2-3 miles per gallon.

  • 2003 Santa Fe LX 2.7 - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

My wife and I bought it with 60,000 miles. We had a couple of minor issues right of the bat that the dealer didnt want to handle. I did replace the plugs and wires twice within the first two years because of the same problem. It was a little time consuming but not impossible. Definately cheaper then taking it into the dealer. Other then that it has been very reliable. Gas mileage could be a little better. I think we average around 17-18mpg. We orignally bought it because we were told it could handle a boat. Later found it the towing capacity wasnt great. But would definately buy another one.

This car came delivered in perfect condition and we have found no defects. It is a pleasure to drive. We bought on the results of the J.D. Powers quality review and we are not disappointed.
