Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • love this car BUT - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought my car used in 05. I love the look of the car and its fun to drive and very comfy and roomy BUT I have had nothing but trouble with it. had to replace rear end, new battery that I was told had to be Hyundai specific and cost$132, trouble with pedal sensors and now damper pulley and timing belt. It is horrible in the winter to start and when it does it doesnt want to drive! it does tend to jerk sometimes when shifting. Its a shame i really do love this car but probably wont buy another one.

I had my heart set on a Ford Escape or a Toyota RAV 4 but after driving it I found the Escape noisy and boring. Who would want a 3 year warranty when you can have a 5 year, 60000 miles with Hyundai? The Santa Fe is a much better looking car with a comfortable interior and excellent value for money. I know there are people who will always say a Hyundai is a Hyundai. Well, I suggest they go and drive the car before giving it the third degree. Im very pleased with the purchase.

We are the proud new owners of a Pewter Santa Fe LX AWD. It is truly a "neighbours envy, owners pride"! The other favorite was the Mazda Tribute. Four reasons why we went for the Santa Fe: 1)Stalling problems and recalls in the Tribute. 2)Good crash test rating for Santa Fe(top of its class) 3)SF loaded with a lot of standard features. 4)SF exterior stands out from the rest.

  • A so-so vehicle - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Ive had the vehicle almost a year now. I think it is an okay vehicle for the price you are paying, with good features, but there are some annoying deficiencies. On the plus side, the acceleration is very good, the handling is pretty good for an SUV, the interior is above average, and you get a long list of advance features. On the negative side, the ride is a little bit harsh. There are some fit and finish issues. The rear door needs to be slammed to close properly. The rear hatch area is not aligned perfectly. Occasionally there are some annoying squeaks and rattles from various parts of the car which speak to poor build quality. So far, I havent any transmission problems.

The Santa Fe is a great car and value (we bought ours for a little less than 21k, after incentives). It has been the best driving car we have owned, better than our Civics, Maximas, or Camrys. My parents have had 0 Sonata (they bought it for 10k new a few years ago).

TO DATE, THE SANTA FE EXPERIENCE HAS SURPASSED EXPECTATIONS. AS A PREVIOUS OWNER OF OTHER SUVS, THE SANTA FE PERFORMANCE EXCEEDS THE OTHERS. A SMOOTH AND QUIET RIDE FOR SURE! NOT TO MENTION, A TROUBLE FREE VEHICLE SINCE TAKING IT OUT OF THE DEALERS LOT!

Although I have only owned this vehicle a few months, I am very satisfied so far. At this point my only complaint has been some hesitation and jerkiness when accelerating from a rolling start or sometimes from a standing start. This may have something to do with the electronic accelerator linkage. Mind you, I have not reported this to the dealer at this time, as the vehicle is hardly broken in and the vehicle is primarily driven in town. The vehicle is comfortable for me even though I am a large person at over 6 ft tall. I am still waiting for some gas milage improvement.

  • Incredible Value - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Weve had our Santa Fe for almost 3 months and have had absolutely no problems. This vehicle is fun to drive, easy to manuever, and has a great ride. Seats are comfortable and roomy. Rear seat space is ample. We got 24 mpg on first road trip - thats with AC on and pushing the speed limit.

This model vehicle is not getting the mileage I was told I would get. At 3000 miles I called the dealer and told him I was getting 19.1 hwy mile per gallon. She told me I would have to have about 6000 to get the miles that was on the sticker. At 6000 miles i called her and she told me it would get better after 8000 mile. I knew something was not right. I took it to the dealer and had a diagnostic check and everything was within the parramimeters of the manufactorers specs. I now have 11000 miles on the car and I am getting 19.8 hwy. My sticker said 19 city and 25 hwy. A dealer in Ohio said I would not get any better. I would not reccomend this car for fuel mileage the 2008sticker 17 and 23
