Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Weve only had our Santa Fe Sport for a month but so far so good. So this review is about my experience dealing with Hyundai. In shopping for the Santa Fe, we found out that they are very limited on their availability for certain models. We were looking for Santa Fe Sport in Cabo Bronse with the popular package. There was NOT ONE in California. I also found out that there were only 3-4 in the state with these specs with colors only in white, black, and silver. The dealer said they can get our choice color, but the could not, so please research and shop around before buying.

Im a first-time Hyundai owner who was previously skeptical of the brand. I read lots of reviews and learned that Hyundai has greatly improved its quality so I decided to test drive a SF. Who knew? I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and standard features given the price. I was leaning toward buying a 2009 RAV-4 V6, but the 2010 SF SE was approximately the same price with more cargo room and more comfortable ride and fit/finish. Hyundai is giving Toyota and Honda a run for their money, especially considering the warranty and price. If youre looking at SUVs, you should definitely test drive a Santa Fe.

  • Very Impressed - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Picked up a 2008 Limited Santa Fe two weeks ago. Very impressed with the vehicle. I was a GMC man prior to this purchase and traded my 2001 Jimmy with 145K miles. The fit and finish is excellent and the little things got me like the front defrost comes on automatically and shuts off as well. Infinity sound system is fantastic, ride is smooth but the tires seem a bit noisy. Overall Im very happy with my purchase.

  • i love my sante fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I am very pleased with every aspect of my santa fe, it is comfortable, and i feel safe while driving it. It handles wonderful on mountain roads, snow conditions and wet roads. It may only be 2wd but the design and ground clearance have made it the perfect crossover. Fuel economy well 270 miles on 1/4 tank of gas, need i say more? It is perfect for the wife if she wants to keep her tall husband in his own truck.

  • Wow - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Just purchased 2WD V6 with Navi and 3 rows of seats. Drove from LV to LA, 23.7mpg with ave speed of 67mph. Very comfortable, great vision and no real blind spots. You still need to turn your head and look! A/C worked great as temp in LV and desert 109F. Great power, no problems going up any of the grades and able to easily pass. Cant tell the difference between 70-90mph, so you have to pay attention. Takes a while to learn the Navi system and its not as good as the Honda Crosstour to learn or use (few more steps and a more difficult menu system). Handles very car like and has a compliant (not mushy) suspension. Handles the Pasadena fwy curves easily at >60mph with some body lean

  • Awesome Vehicle - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Weve had our Santa Fe for over 2 yrs now and have not had any problems with it. I feel very safe in this car. My husband takes it to work about 35 miles from home in the winter (and we live in one of the worst snow band areas) and this car handles wonderfully. We have the AWD and Traction Control features. Would definitely buy another.

  • Excellent until 5000 miles - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Bought the car in early 2013, we drive it weekly on the weekends. Loved it until last 2 months ago when we took a long trip in it. It started to surge on acceleration and sometimes fall on its face. Took to dealer and they were unable to reproduce. It gets worse the more we drive it. am now afraid to take a long trip in it. Have driven only a few times since back from dealer. Probably will trade soon as soon as I figure what to try next. Bought a Silverado 2013 this year also and love it, have 12000 miles on it with no issues.

  • 05 Santa Fe 4Cyl FWD *(Canadian Model) - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Have owned this Santa Fe for 3 months. Surprisingly pleased with the performance and gas mileage. Currently getting 31.88 mpg with mostly "around town" driving...only 3 trips over an hour in duration. Vehicle has lots of get-up-and-go due no doubt to a very well geared 5 speed manual transmission.Exterior style and ergonomics of interior very pleasing. Feels very solid and tight on the road. Have no reliabily info yet.

From the time of purchase, until I traded my Santa Fe in on a new vehicle, I loved this car. Car was great, dealer wasnt.
