Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Worst Ever...Horrible! - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have had my Santa Fe for almost 3 years now...and have had NOTHING but problems with it!! I have had to replace/repair so many things its not funny. It has ranged from electrical issues in the engine (multiple), the cruise control had to be disabled at one point or the transmission got stuck in 1st...now its a power steering issue. I am dumping this thing as soon as humanly possible. Hyundai was NO help at all of course, non-transferrable warranty and all that.

  • Great Buy - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

After months of online research, I finally went out and bought a 07 SF 2.7 GLS today. While most of the reviews I read were no doubt written by genuine owners, some I feel might be written by some with hidden malicious intents. I carefully examined some purpported issues forwarned, most turned out to be unfounded. I owned a 2001 CRV; my wife has a 2004 CRV, these cannot compare with the quality, ride, value and amenity of the SF. I cannot be happier with my new acquisition.

  • What not to like? - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Ok, I admit that we have only had this vehicle for a couple of weeks and are still in the "honeymoon" period. However, this not-so-mini SUV is a real winner. Great (ok a bit funky) looks, roomy interior, sure-footedness, quiet, capable power, and a tremendous warranty. And we compared it to many other hot-sellers in the same category and we had no difficulty in choosing this one to bring home.

  • who would have thought??? - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I am an avid car enthusiat who has subscriptions to all the major mags. I do a lot of homework before purchasing a vechile. My wife and I needed to downsize from our Durango so I started looking at the usual suspects (Escape, Liberty, etc). I came across the Sante Fe by mistake. I took all 3 for test drives and the Sante Fe just blew them away! I couldnt belive this was the same Hyundai that was the joke of the auto industry 10 yrs ago. You simply cant beat the value they offer. I have the 3.5L motor and its awesome. I also have a modified Ford Lightning and an 05 Stang GT so I know about performace. It may not be the best looking SUV on the road, but it cant be beat for the money.

  • Multiple Problems - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

The second day I had it I took it on a long trip to Florida and the AC froze up after 2 hours. I got no support from the dealer of course. Ive replaced compressor, checked for leaks, replaced sensors...nothing works, cant take it on trips longer than 2 hours when I need AC. Also have had to replace O2 sensor 3 times. Was in shop for almost 3 months straight when I first bought it. Warranty is not transferable if bought used. Would never buy one ever again.

  • Love my Santa Fe! - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Had looked at Santa Fes earlier last year, then decided to hold onto my 01 Grand Caravan with 60k on it. Until, that is, I was told the "weird noise and odd ride" suddenly meant I needed a new front end suspension/ball joints...this by my very reliable and highly rated mechanic/garage..the Chrysler dealership hemmed and hawed and told me it couldnt be so. Found out the next week that there was a MAJOR recall on Chrysler Durangos etc for same! Adios Chrysler forever. I had stopped MANY Santa Fe owners in parking lots and asked their opinions....they all said they loved their vehicles. One woman said her husband liked it so much he bought his own!

  • Best SUV - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have owned Jeep,Honda,GMC,Ford and Toyota SUVs. This is the best of them all. Ride is great, everything is well placed on the interior. I get great gas milage on the highway, 26mpg, driving in mountainous areas. Love the Automatic/manual transmission, great feature similar to what I had on my Audi. Excellant warranty, which Ive not had to use because it is such a reliable car.
