Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • So far, so good - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just hit the 3 year mark on my Santa Fe. It has been great. I normally replace my cars every 2 yrs or so, but in this case, I like this vehicle so much, I am keeping it. My only problem thus far has been the alternator needing to be replaced. Otherwise, this vehicle has been trouble free.

After checking out the Hyundai line of cars at the dealership, I saw the Santa fe. It looked well built and asked for a test drive. It was so car like in its ride and comfortable that I bought one within a week. I now have a silver 2003 LX with the optional sunroof (everything else is standard it seems). I have read others comment about this car and I agree with all the positive comments. I sit high and the view is terrific. There is no other SUV in this class that in my opinion rides so nicely! Almost everything is well thought out and the quality is very high. It may not be perfect for all, but what SUV is?

This is my favorite vehicle that I have owned and I am 62. I have had no mechanical problem of any kind. The leather interior is nice and the radio sound is excellent. Only concern would be the transmission is a little jerky.

  • Santa Fe awesome again - 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe

i owned a 2011 Santa Fe limited awd and traded for this same model 2015. Its incredible. Everything is laid out really well. I enjoyed the captains chairs for the second row and the third row. I really think the panoramic sunroof is a great feature. However, the most important aspect is the drivability. I would say that the ride is a little stiffer than the previous Santa Fe, but it is miles of an improvement in terms of overall ride quality and luxury feel of the vehicle. I would highly recommend the Santa Fe.

  • Traded it! - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

After 4000 miles on a Honda CRV. The Santa Fe was the absolute worse vehicle I have ever owned and Hyundai is the worse car company I ever dealt with. Transmission was defective and they would not recognize its problems or fix it. Bad design and quality problems. They may allege to have the best warranty in the business but that is because they wont fix any problems and keep saying that is the way the vehicle was made to operate. Never buy a Hyundai again ......ever!

  • Poor mileage, many small problems - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Poor gas mileage, sticker showed 19/25. I am getting 17/19. No interior light in drivers compartment. Battery dead if i let it set for 3 days. Drivers wiper fell off in snow storm on Interstate 95.I have to take it in this week to have it aligned, all four tire worn. (18000 miles on it.I have to pay for this myself, it is not covered under warranty. Dealer has been nice. This is a real DAH DUH vehicle. I have called Hyundai and could not get any satisfaction. Check 5 year 100000 mile warranty before you buy.

This is my third Hyundai Santa Fe and each version gets better than the last. Overall fit and finish was excellent. Smooth Ride and OK gas mileage so far.

  • Best Hyundai Ever - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

This vehicle combines the best features of all of its competitors into one smart affordable package. The Santa Fe doesnt necessarily excel in any single category but the sum of all the parts beats most every competitor. When you factor in the price it is clearly the top of the small SUV category and even competes with mid- size offerings. I would say the only drawback would be the fuel economy.

  • great value, horrible gas mileage - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I have been very happy with performance of the car and have to say they have been extremely helpful in the service center of Hyundai. The 5 year bumper to bumper is amazing. The only real issue is the gas mileage - with heat and AWD kicking in sometimes (winter time), I am getting around 10-12 miles/gallon (stop and go on the roads), which is horrible.

  • Smooth, Sleek SUV - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I have had my Sante Fe for 6 months and feel that the vehicle is a very sound and solid SUV. It handles great, rides very smooth and for a 6 cylinder, has a lot of pep. I feel safe driving it. We have a lot of winds that are very strong and the vehicle never swayed once. The interior is put together nicely, very roomy. All in all, I would buy another Sante Fe when I am ready to trade it in. A very pleased consumer.
