Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SUVS ON THE MARKET. IT HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST GROUND CLEARANCE. THE ONLY THING THAT IS HIGHER IS A FORD EXPEDITION AND ONLY BY .5 INCHES. THIS IS ONE FUN SUV TO DRIVE.

It runs well but I think the engine is loud when sitting inside. I just bought the car and I have some trouble adjusting the front seats. Its very roomy inside and looks good on the outside.

  • Paint Peels - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

We bought this 2009 Santa Fe based on consumer Reports ratings and the fact that we got over 200,000 miles on the last Hyundai Sonata. We have over 90,000 miles on this one and it has been a good value except for 2 major points. One, the accelerator stuck in the idle position, which is the default instead of unintended acceleration. The other is the paint peeled off the hood and the roof right above the windshield. Even though it was only 2.5 years old, since it had 50,000 miles on it warranty did not cover it. $1600 paint job. The money we saved by buying Hyundai we really did not save. You get what you pay for...

I purchased a new Hyundai in July due to the Cash for Clunkers program. I had a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, that I have loved, but it was getting ready to hit 200K. I drove several different models from the Kia Sportage, to the Toyota RAV4, Chevrolet Equinox, and the Santa Fe. On my second fillup I got 24 mpg-unbelievable!The inside is well designed except for the seats are not comfortable; drivers side. They are very stiff and not nearly as comfortable as the Jeep or other American cars. Please include fog lights as standard on this vehicle. The paint job is beautiful and I am thrilled about the warranty! Love the sound system and I usually put custom sound systems in the car after purchase.

  • Well Built Vehicle - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Needed to upgrade to a larger vehcile for a growing family and with the help of all of the reviews on this site I found the Santa Fe the most functional of all the compact-midsize people movers out there. This suv maneuvers very well, stands tall enough to see over the traffic without having bad blind spots. Easy to park, entry/exit is good and love the cargo space for all of the required baby gear my wife and I need to haul around. I bought this vechile pre-owned, and with the gas prices falling, were getting about 20.5mpg in mix driving, I definitly recommend this Hyundai to any small family looking for a good price on a suv with sound quality, safety and long list of std features.

We bought this vehicle to replace a 4 wheel drive pickup. It has done that plus has given much more comfort. It is such a pleasure to drive. The fuel ecomony could be better, but it is getting at least what is stated on the sticker. It would be nice if the rear leather seats would also be heated. Overall we a very well pleased with this vehicle.

  • Sante Fe is Excellent - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

We absolutely love our Sante Fe. We have had it over 6 mos. now and have had absolutely no problems with it and we still have people asking where did we get our car cause it is so cool looking. Its reliable, quiet, and probably the most underestimated SUV on the market.
