Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • An opinion - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Less than 12,000 miles and the valves are rattling unless I run premium gasoline. Gas mileage is about what they say as long as I run premium. Otherwise, gas mileage is about 25% less than they claim. Interior rattles coming from who knows where, but very irritating. Brakes are squeaking as if I need brake pads already -- surely not, but gotta have it checked out.

  • Almost an RX300 for half the price - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Wife really wanted the Lexus RX300 but the price was heart-stopping. We each test drove the Sante Fe at 2 different dealerships and couldnt believe value of this SUV. Toured the entire Dallas Auto Show and NOTHING touched it. After 6 months we have 10K miles and a trip to Colorado with our new Sante Fe and zero problems. Very fun to drive, great ride, lots of cargo room (more than our old Windstar van with a family of 4 loaded in), loads of standard. features. Second gear is geared a little low but the pickup overall is just fine, city or highway. From a die- hard Toyota and GM fan, this is one great car. Plus the warranty if youre still not convinced!

  • Impressive! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

My wife and I are loyal Subaru owners, but when we were in the market for a new family car, we thought we would give Hyundai a shot. When my wife drove this vehicle for the first time, she basically said forget the Subaru, I want this Santa Fe!! If the word "Hyundai" makes you think of an old 86 Excel, well its definitely time to change your thinking. This is a well-built vehicle that offers great utility in a very bold, unique looking package, of course backed by an incredible warranty. If you are in the market for a small SUV, dont let the name Hyundai fool you..... check this vehicle out!!

  • Too big for just me - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

My car drives great. Easy to park.Sits up higher than a car,so visibility is great. The back seat has a stow away Childs seat. Its just me now that my husband passed away and the kids are all grown up. So I want to down size.

  • Great features with a small price - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

It really hugs the road. The aircon is great for those that like it very cold. The full size spare tire is great. The stock CD/tape/radio sounds great for a factory unit. The leather seats are comfortable.

  • Perfect SUV - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought 2007 SF SE with no option packages. Priced as a family sedan, this amazing SUV (or CUV, call it whatever you want) performs as a high-priced Lexus! Fuel economy is OK, not great but cmon, this is sport utility with 3.3L engine. Dont expect to get 28-30 miles per gallon because its not a economy car. Just buy it and enjoy it!!

  • FABULOUS! - 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe

  • No complaints...except for the way it eats tires. - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I didnt see a place in the ratings for that, but it seems the Santa Fe has a penchant for tires. Something I read on another forum about the way the AWD has a natural toe-in or something. Whatever...I never seem to get more than 35,000 miles out of a set of tires, which is expensive as hell with 18" wheels. Other than than, this car has been a gem. My friends bought an Infinity Crossover the same year, for $25,000 more, and were shocked...wouldnt have spent the extra money if theyd known the Hyundais were so nice. But Hyundai was still working the "cheap" reputation back then. No longer. Weve been looking at a Vera Cruz now, but new models are due so I think well wait to upgrade.

  • 07 Sante Fe is a winner - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

This vehicle is worth every penny I paid for it. The exterior body design is such an improvement over past Sante Fes. The interior is well laid out and uses quality materials. Leather Seats on the limited are more comfortable than the cloth seats. All the built in safety features make it very insurance friendly.
