Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • One year of ownership - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Weve owned the Santa Fe for just over a year. We have had ZERO issues. Very happy overall with this vehicle. I was a little concerned when we bought the vehicle, as we had always owned Toyotas/Hondas. If youre contemplating a Santa Fe, I would highly recommend this vehicle.

Overall so far a good experience. The Santa Fe is very quiet, and the features (for the money) cant be beat. Excellent pickup from a stop, passing power when at 60 takes a while to get there. Mileage could be better. No regrets from buying it. Traded in a 1999 Ford Explorer (purchased new originally), the Santa Fe rides much better than the Explorer ever did.

  • like it more with every drive - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I researched and test drove many suvs that compare with Santa Fe. More bang for your buck and a solid vehicle to drive. Handles great, rides great, low noise level, and comfortable too.It fits like a glove. The transmition is aimed at smooth, quiet shifting, sometimes giving the impression that acceleration is a little less than peppy. It is there when you need it, especially when your already up to speed. There is really nothing I do not like about the Santa Fe. Only wish I would have got one with sunroof and built in DVD player.

  • Great, Inexpensive, Car! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

We looked at the Toyota Rav4, GMC Envoy, and Honda Pilot, and this is the best of all of those. There are so many thoughtful features in it that Ive been discovering for the past 2 weeks. It has lighted cup holders when your head lights are on, a gasoline sensor so the air in the cabin doesnt have gas in it, and the Mp3 capibilities. The ride is a bit rough, but the leather seats comphensate for that. Getting leather at 26,400$ is a great buy! The wheels may cost a lot of money to replace though. This Santa Fe blows its older model away with better looks, better interior, and better fit and finish. (One word of caution: The limited AWD w/ 5 seats only is very rare, so look around)

  • Bang for the buck - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Heres my story, its a long one. Ive been researching, renting, test driving and reading reviews for over a year. Finally I made a decision. Considering the tag price, gas mileage and overall value this SUV is the way to go! Standard equipment on base model, excellent warranty, reasonable resale value, and so far dependable. If Hyundai keeps this up Ill never buy American again.

I have had my sante fe for over three years. In that time, I have had virtually no problems. I think that the quality is good, the ride is smooth and the price is right.

  • Three and a half years & still impressed - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought my Santa Fe in July 05. This month (12/08), I had to take it to the dealership for the first problem I have had - it needed a new thermostat, which was covered under the warranty. My time is precious and I appreciate the reliability of this vehicle. Will buy another Hyundai if this one ever wears out!

  • Good and Bad Experience - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought the car brand new which was a big mistake but oh well, live and learn. Our Sante Fe currently has 85K miles and is a strong and comfortable runner. It drives nice and has a solid feel to the car, Hyundai has definitely improved the quality of their vehicles since they were introduced to the U.S. I was very sceptical about buying one except for the excellent reviews from the car mags. Anyway, it didnt take but about 20k miles before we had a squeaky belt problem which the dealer fixed but it has happened time and time again. Also at the 84K mile mark the transfer case started to leak oil, luckily it was under the warranty and they fixed it no questions asked. Im selling it now!
