Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Never again - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By kt - December 22 - 3:36 pmI will never buy another Hyundai Santa Fe. This car had multiple major problems, including timing belts replaced, transmission replaced, rear and front catalytic converters replaced, etc. The tires were replaced multiple times, as were the brakes. The driver window fell down into the door and needed fixing. This was definitely a high-maintenance car. My car wouldnt accelerate above 30 mph on a highway so I had to drive on the shoulder of the road while utilizing my flashers. I took it to the dealership, who apparently misdiagnosed the problem multiple times and had my car for 5-weeks without a loaner vehicle. The customer service dept. and service dept. were less-than-acceptable.

Its a keeper - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By psandifer - December 20 - 2:00 amMy Dodge Dakota Lease expired so I looked for another truck-like vehicle with a 6 cyl. vs. an 8. After all the research my wife and I bought the fully loaded Limited. So far we have c.4000 mi. and have really enjoyed this. We have traveled to OKC and San Antonio since Dec. 20 and commute about 70 mi.RT. The rear seat entertainment with the Infinity sound system is worth it. If I have to drive this is the way to go. The power is more than adequate (too many tickets anyway) and I can haul lots of stuff and/or passengers. I drive about 5 to 10 over the limit but sometimes look down and Im doing 90. My point is Im getting about 21mpg and thats not bad for a rating of 20-24mpg.

Love the car, but not customer service - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By luvmysanta - December 17 - 10:00 amI love my car! For a great value, I got tons of stuff! People walk up to me in parking lots, and ask about it! Unfortunately, the customer service Ive encountered has bean really, really, REALLY bad! Theyve made it clear early on in my ownership, that if something does go wrong, they will not honor the warranty, or make any attempts to help the customer. I had a small concern, that I brought to their attention, and they just tried to sell me another car (requiring several thousand in cash), rather than fix the problem. Ive been trying to get the problem corrected since November of 2001, with no luck (its now April of 2003).

hyundia sante fe,new york - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By harley - December 14 - 6:20 amI bought the car/truck in nov 09 since the Ive drove 20k miles. I really like the overall drive and layout of the Santa Fe. The seats are a little stiff and if you drive with the rear Windows partially down they howl and vibrate a lot. The 08 dont have the ipod connection that I miss. Ive had a clunk in the front end going over bumps. I took it to dealer and was told it was a bushing problem. The didnt seem to have a fix for it. While annoying its not so much that I wouldnt buy another on but hope they fix the problem. Fuel mileage adv 22.5 mpg for me.

I love my Huyndai... - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By robin - December 12 - 7:20 pmI was a Toyata girl for more than 14yrs.I decided to trade the 2000 mini van in for a small suv. The Highlander was my choice, however I saw the sante fe all over the road and heard of the great warrantee. I went for a test drive and the purchase was a no brainer. It drives great, looks good and is fun ,handles great in bad weather and best of all you get it all with affordable pricing.I never thought I would switch from Toyota, but I did and I am happy about it. Huyndai has come a long way. You get a lot for your buck....

Love my NEW Sport Santa Fe - 2.4L AWD - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By vivivalencia - December 10 - 2:57 amI really enjoy my New Santa Fe, this is my 3rd Hyundai. I owned a GT Elantra (manual) and I still have my 2005 Santa Fe GLS, at 126,000 plus miles it still runs great. I tested BMW,Subaru, Audi, Explorer, Toyota, and after testing the new Santa Fe, I opted for another one. I chose Pearl white, first time with a bright color, my 2005 is black. Love to drive it, everyone loves the interior and exterior. My only concern had been the reviews on steering, so I tested roads, city and highway driving. People need to understand its a new technology, electronic, and all modes are sensitive to roads and conditions, and each wheel is sensitive to dry, wet, rocky pavement. Love it, I feel secure!

Pretty Good - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
By mikeeha - December 5 - 6:00 pmI was comparing the Santa Fe and the Equinox. They are the largets SUVs at the price point. So far Ive owned it for over a month and have about 1200 miles driven. When I was test driving the vehicle I noticed how smooth the ride was. The newly paved roads probably had a lot to do with it. I now notice how poorly it handles bumps and pot holes. You really can feel everything. The handling is a bit clunky. The fuel economy is a lot less than I thought it would perform. The model I purchased was said to be 21/26. The city mileage is nowhere near the estimated. I live in the city of Chicago and get roughly 15mpg in city, while I do get around 23mpg highway.
