Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

I have got a car with almost luxury equipment for a reasonable price. Very attractive body, good quality on all details.

  • Great Vehicle*** Few Small Issues - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I am very happy with my 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. I do wish I had waited until it had been out longer so I could have gotten the included XM radio and so my husband could have gotten automatic map lights (the lack of which drives him crazy; me, not so much). I have noticed that the wind noise is greatly increased since my test drive, otherwise the ride is great. Also, the leather seats are too hard for most people. My hubby hates them and even my 11-year-old little sister commented on them as soon as she got in the vehicle. However, when you drive the vehicle everyday, the seats are fine. Just depends on what youre used to.

  • Ill trade for a good used car - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Well, its almost an ok car, but... I heavily researched the car before even going to look at one. On paper it looked great. I bought it in late October, 2004. EPA mpg ratings are 17-20 mpg city driving and that is what it has gotten: anywhere between 20 and 16.6 mpg from one tank-up to the next - thats 15-20% difference between tanks. Literally, I have gone from 20 to 16.6 - 17 mpg in one tank full - twice. Despite being an SUV, half the drivers in my family cannot drive it. One family member is very overweight and, tho she fits in a Toyota Camry just fine, the Hyundai seat will not go back far enough, nor will the steering wheel adjust enough th

  • The best SUV for the price - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

This is my second SUV, and my first Hyundai. My first was a Chevy Blazer and I hated it from the beginning. Now, Im totally pleased with my new Santa Fe. It has all the features I ever wanted in a car, and they come standard!!!. Its smooth to drive, feels like a car instead of a truck, and responds quickly every time you push on the gas. The interior has been built with quality materials not found in more expensive cars, especially Chevys. This is the best SUV you can find for the price.

  • Santa Fe LX w/3.5 and 4WD - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

My Santa Fe LX has been great. This is my second SUV and I couldnt love it more. I do wish the gas mileage was a bit better, I get 18mpg city and 21 highway. I drive in the Rocky Mountains winter and summer and love the control, power and traction of the Santa Fe. I wish I had the automatic head light control, but I can live without it. I would love to have On Star and a Satellite radio.

  • Her name was Sandy - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

We owned our Santa Fe for 6yrs. Bought in 2010 for $6000. Had 104,000 miles on it. Sold it May 2016 for $4000, and had 140,000 on it. The only things we replaced on it were the brakes, tires, and ignition switch. Loved plowing through the Wisconsin winters. She was getting a little sluggish before we sold it, but was one of the best vehicles we ever owned. Back in 2013 we bought a 2007 Santa Fe and sold it a year later. We thought it would be like our 02 but couldnt hold a candle to it. Recently purchased a 2012 Chevy Captiva. Hope we have the same luck as we did with Sandy.

  • Great until you break - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

The Santa Fe is a woderful vehicle until you want to break; mainly when its raining, snowing or youre going down a hill. It keeps on going when you want to stop. Im surprised I havent gotten into an accident yet (knock on wood). When I told the mechanic at Sussman, he said that it was a safety feature and I shouldnt worry about it. How can I not worry about potentially running into another car is beyond me. Other than that, the SUV rides really well. I was skeptical because of their rep. in the past but theyve made a believer out of me. Hyundai is a good vehicle thats great on gas. Thanks for listening.

  • A good value - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

We looked pretty closely at 2 other vehicles in this class before buying the Santa Fe. The Subaru Forester didnt offer a V6 and was not as visually appealing. Still with just a 4 cylinder and the options we wanted, it was about $2000 more than the Santa Fe. We liked how the Toyota Rav4 looks, and liked how the V6 handled. But to get the same options as our SE Santa Fe, we would have had to get a Limited Rav4. That was almost $6000 more. Since this was tied with the Rav4 for consumer satisfaction in Consumer Reports, it seemed a no brainer to get this.

  • Try It, Youll Like It - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I admit that I am a car snob. I never thought I would drive a Hyundai but after test driving several other HUVs in its class, I drove off with this one. It has been almost 5 months and 6,000 miles and I still enjoy getting into it every day. I have not had to take it in for even minor adjustments. (This review is for a 2002.)
