Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Limited AWD - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Pabs54321 - March 31 - 9:10 pmWe bought the Santa Fe so that we could transport our newborn grand daughter. My wife had a Mustang convertible and it was impossible to place the child in the car seat. We looked at quite a few SUVs and chose the Santa Fe. I never thought Id enjoy driving an SUV but I do enjoy the Santa Fe. My only complaint is the gas mileage, it is almost as bad as my V-8 powered truck which is also a 4X4.

Santa Fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By undecydedd - March 31 - 10:00 amMy husband was broadsided by another SUV that weighed 2000 lbs more than our Santa Fe, that was traveling at about 50 mph. The Santa Fe flipped from the impact, spun 180 degrees and landed on its wheels. My husband walked away from this accident. He had nothing broken, literally not even a scratch. The only injury was the soreness from the airbags and the force of the impact. I would recommend the Santa Fe to anyone based on the fact that my husband is still here with me. I appreciate the fact that Hyundai includes standard side air bags in their vehicles. The quality of the Santa Fe saved a life.

3.5 GLS Santa Fe 2004 - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Ken Bider - March 31 - 10:00 amIve had nothing for the dealer to repair. Im seriously handicaped and I selected the particular car to address my needs - good choice. The initial throttle response is a little touchy. Exellent initial quality. I cant speak to down-the-road quality since Ive only had the car about a month.

2009 Santa Fe SE AWD - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By JBird - March 22 - 3:13 amTraded a 2007 Subaru Forester for the Santa Fe to get some added interior and cargo space and so far Im very pleased. Got a terrific end of year deal too. Almost bought a GLS. Very happy I did not. The GLS is underpowered, plus the SE has all the looks of the Limited minus leather for a couple thousand less. I have one major peeve and a couple minor peeves. The major peeve is no daytime running lamps. For a 2009 vehicle, this is a must have safety feature. Minor peeves are Hyundai should give drivers control over the sensitivity of the automatic headlights sensor, and headroom is cramped if you opt for a sunroof.

Great crossover for the price - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Aduvas - March 20 - 7:46 pmI just bought this a few days ago for my wife after trading my 12 year old Isuzu Trooper in. The Santa Fe feels decidely different than the SUV - it feels much more like a car, and the car chassis build is the clear reason. Its taking me a while to get used to the lower seating compared to the Trooper, reduced powwer and somwwhat limiting rear visibility so far. But those are areas I feel I can get accustomed to - its a differrent vehicle after all. The Santa Fe handles well for its class, feels luxurious for the price on the inside, has modern styling, provides good fuel economy for the class, and is fun to drive around and do regular chores in.

Best car I got ..! - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
By dapril32 - March 20 - 6:20 pmLook at this .. after 176,000km on the count. I decided to chage my tire for the first time! They are still good for one summer so I will keep them for next year. The best tire on this thing I never had. No problem at all with this SUV. Did change oil every 5000km, regular maintenance, the closer dealer in my area is about at 200km. Dont need them anyway .. haha The paint still great on it after these years. The one thing is the break that need to be change every 50000 at least. I paid this SUV after 3 years then its money in the bank! I cant compaint at all ...!

WOW! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By sanben - March 17 - 10:00 amWe researched for months before we even knew what we wanted to test-drive and Edmunds was THE most useful site we found! Hubby and I narrowed our choices to Toyota Highlander and this Santa Fe. It was no contest! We paid about $7,000 less and got a great-looking vehicle with tons of options! It is fun to drive and does NOT look like a cookie- cutter SUV that everyone else has. Try it for yourself!

Love my Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Love my Santa Fe! - March 9 - 6:33 pmDid a lot of research and comparison shopping before purchasing our Santa Fe. So far, we just love it. It handles great (have driven in snow, on ice, on highway, heavy traffic, etc.), and it is fun to drive. The small turning radius is better than any other car I have driven. I was skeptical about buying a Hyundai, but am extremely happy with my decision. Gas mileage is better than advertised. It has good power and feels very safe.
