Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Big Surprise - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By LawerenceOfSuburbia - June 21 - 6:16 amNever thought I would own a Hyundai but thought I might look at End-of-Year deals on 2006 model. Brand new 2007 still in srink wrap caught my eye. The 2007s arrived the day before so I got to try one. Bought it the next day. Loved it ever since. Tried Honda CRV (Too noisy, slow and cheap looking) and Pilot (nice, but pricy and a bit too big). If Hyundai proves reliable over time, then Watch Out Honda! Theres a new game afoot. My eldest daughter(37) thought it was a new Acura SUV. My youngest daughter(25) wanted to go out and replace her 2005 Santa Fe immediately.

Great starter car for a new family - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By phantomusaf - June 19 - 10:00 amThis car is great good gas milage for a small SUV and good amount of power compared to its competitors. I have 2 small children and they have plenty of room. I have had it for over 2 years and I have never had one problem nor heard of anyone that has had a problem. You cant beat it in its class for the price you get a lot more then what you pay for which is a rareity these days

Hyundai Santa Fe is #1 - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By CSJKGC - June 19 - 10:00 amI find the handling is the ultimate best. I really enjoy the ease in shifting gears, especially the responsiveness of the clutch. The design line of the body demonstrates thought in its development. I would have never believed so much vehicle could be had for the price. It is worth much more than its cost.

Love the exterior, inside so-so - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Knowidentity - June 19 - 10:00 amI Love the exterior design, gas mileage, and overall performance BUT, the front seats are too small and uncomfortable. It is great to drive locally but, unfortunately, uncomfortable for longer trips.

Hyundai Santa Fe - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By dk1706 - June 17 - 2:00 amI love the Santa Fe, I looked at many different automobiles before I even thought of givine the Hyundai Santa Fe a test drive and when I did I bought it that day. It drove much better than even the most exspensive SUVs I saved over 30,000 dollars and am still satisfied. You dont need an exspensive car too have the same peformance. its just prestige I guess.

Good design - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By chad001 - June 15 - 5:06 pmIve owned my Santa Fe for a little over a week now. Ive been very pleased with how the car handles. Has very good ride. The exterior and interior designs is clean and modern, much nicer than the Toyota highlander and Honda Pilot in my opinion. Im currently getting 20mpg (mostly city driving). I recently took a 4.5 hour trip (mostly highway) and was getting about 23mpg. The steering wheel controls are spread too far apart and difficult to get use to as they are very low on the wheel. The transmition does not shift a smooth as some of the others but feels solid.

Nice solid small SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Jamie - June 15 - 3:43 pmI have to say that I love this car. It runs great, very quiet ride, and I can tow a boat and my jet skis with no problem. Plenty of room for the two kids and the dog in the back, even with luggage!

Good all around - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
By DISA27 - June 13 - 2:33 amHavent experienced any of the previous stated problems. Probably because I perform regular maintenance and treat it like an AWD V6 SUV, not Formula 1. I dont beat on it too much, occasional off-road fishing trips performs awesome in the mud (minus the 9 in of ground clearance. Decent gas mileage 20-24 with mixed driving and K&N flat filter.

Complete surprise - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By geeno - June 11 - 2:00 amNever wanted a SUV. Wife saw the Santa Fe and said it was a nice looking car. Went to the dealer and after driving it, was impressed with the comfort, ride, and quality, not to mention the warranty. Bought it on the spot to replace my station wagon. Both of us are extremely satisfied after 8000 miles. Dealer is great.
