Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Loved my Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By JennHenz - November 19 - 10:33 pmMy Santa Fe was the best driving vehicle Ive owned. It got fair gas mileage for an SUV (19-23 MPG). The car was totaled in an accident (neither our or the cars fault) but my husband and I both walked away without a scratch. My husband is 6 tall and didnt like to drive it because even with the seat all the way back, his knees were still in the dash. It wouldve been better with an MP3 player.

Pleased with Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By kilaban - November 16 - 6:46 amAfter 50,000 miles were still very pleased with our 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Aside from some rough shifting that required some transmission-related computer updates, weve had no real trouble. Gas mileage is lower than expected, but the overall build quality inside and out were still pleased with. No squeaks, rattles, or strange noises, and the road noise is low.

What A Lemon!!!!!! I will never own another Hyundai - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By kylemack - November 11 - 7:16 amI have had 3 transmissions replaced, timing belt, power window motors replaces... and not to mention all the cheap little plastic parts braking and cheap chrome pealing off. Not only does this tin can want to make me never own another hyundia agian but makes me want to just ride a bike. OH And The Side airbag went off while i was driving down the road, no accident or anything. I called hyundai and they said it would all be out of my pocket to fix and that I should call my insurance and insurance said they cant do anything about it because there was no accident. Hyundai support was a bunch of run arounds and not helpful at all. I will never buy another Hyundai. What a money pit!

Love The Car - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By bob H - November 8 - 5:20 pmJust purchased this vehicle, took ride from Florida to North Carolina. Santa Fe rode just like a car not a SUV. Owned car for 1 week now, put on 1500 miles and love it. Gas mileage not bad, 26-28 mpg depending on your speed on highway. Not Hybriid mileage, but acceptable. Nothing negative to say about car.

Trailer pre-wiring - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By drivetofly - November 7 - 8:46 pmMy opinion is that the trailer pre wiring package is a fraud. THere is no adapter to plug and play into the fittings on the vehicle. The wiring harness available from the manufacturer splices into brake lights. This should be considered a major manufacturing defect.

Vibration - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By arl62q - November 4 - 3:10 pmOur Santa Fe is now 14 months old and since the first day we bought it we have had a vibration when driving well after serving Hyundai with a 3rd and final attempt letter they are going to put the 3rd set of tires on it Seriously this is a bunch of crap. The experience has not been a good one at all Thank you Prime Toyota in Scarborough Maine this is the 3rd car from them in 2 years the others a Tucson and Toyota Camry were great and paid for. But they dropped the ball on this one even after calling the owner himself. They have done nothing to help us we had to go to another Hyundai Dealer and they and the Hyundai Rep are helping Just buy the vehicle back or give us a normal

Fun car, great turbo power, lots of features. - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By djg77 - November 4 - 1:53 pmThis isnt a review about mechanical issues since its too new to tell. Ive had my new Santa Fe 2.0T (FWD, base package, no frills) for a couple of weeks now. I love it. It is a comfortable, quiet, fun car to drive. The 270+ hp turbo engine has no problem pushing up the steep inclines of the Texas hill country. It doesnt even blink. Youll take a bit of a hit on gas mileage over the non-turbo model, but its worth it. The non-turbos are just sluggish. The interior is very comfortable, has great looking trim, and the standard options on the base package are impressive. Heat seaters, power everything, bluetooth, all of the things you want.

Great value for your money - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Anthony - November 3 - 10:00 amOur Santa Fe has everything to offer for our family of four. Really smooth ride and very fuel-effcient for its size. Only thing is the engines reliability . Only 10500 miles and already there is a small oil leak. Im taking it into the Dealer to get it looked at, but I must say Im disappointed that a brand new car would already start leaking oil.... :-( Overall, I recommend the car for what it has to offer at a reasonable price. Only flaw about the interior is the lack of an auxiliary port, but I found out that the 09 models were equipped with this, standard. Should of waited a lil longer :-/

Hyundais First Shot at SUV is a Winner - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Happy Hyundai Owner - October 22 - 2:00 amHyundai has been working hard to shed its image of self-destructing cars of the 1980s, and that hard work showing. At first, I dismissed the Hyundai Sante Fe because of my preconceived notion that "Hyundai" was synonymous with "cheap". However, after driving this car, my opinion now is that "Hyundai" is synonymous with "great value" Loaded with standard features that would cost thousands more as options on other brands, this is the "poor mans Lexus". Its well built, has a superior warranty, and its charming good looks is sure to turn heads whether on or off the pavement.
