Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Awesome SUV - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Dont be put off by the name Hyundai. They are building some of the best cars out there and the 2007 Santa Fe is no exception. The car is almost flawless in the fit and finish. The paint quality is superb. The gas mileage is around 22 which is pretty good for a seven seat SUV. The engine is whisper quiet even when cold. It is like getting a Lexus at half price! I hit a Deer with the Santa Fe going about 40 and killed the deer. The car only had a tiny dent on the bumber so you know they are built well. The 18" tires are nice and standard. Well done Hyundai!

Have had the car for about a month now and it gets better every day. Great car feels and drives better than the Lexus, Honda and Toyotos that I tried. Love the car.

  • Youll need the warranty - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I loved the Santa Fe from the start, good ride, gas mileage is what you should really expect (20mpg highway). Everything went downhill when the transfer case broke down after I had the car for only 3 weeks. Dealership said it was a fluke occurrance, but regardless I will be worried about the reliability from now on. The warranty is nice but knowing youll have to use it is not.

  • So far so good - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Test drove CR-V, RAV4,Mazda CX-7,Ford Edge,Suzuki XL7, Mitsubish Outlander, Chevy Equinox all very nice CUVs, but the Santa Fe just stood out. We narrowed it down to 2 cars the CR-V and the Santa Fe. Hyundai won with its warranty, size, extras that Honda didnt have as standard, and most of all price! Paid quite a bit below invoice. Drives like a car. We still cant understand why Consumers Reports recommends RAV4, not nearly as nice. This is my husbands car for work, but I think Ill be stealing it once in a while. Anyone who paid a fortune for a upscale CUV just wasted their money.

  • Best in its class Great Value for money - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

I was driving a Hyundai Tucson, I drove it for 3 yrs and around 50000 miles I did not face a single problem, I was happy with it. I trade in my Tucson and went for Santa Fe for a bigger vehicle. I was surprised to see the features and MPG for such a big vehicle. I test drove Toyota Highlander, Toyota RAV4 but the drive in Santa Fe is awesome and a great product for great price. I got around 26 MPG on highway with 70 MPH and around 18-19 in the city. My car is limited with GPS and 3rd row seating. Dealer gave me a very good price of 25250 what else you need. Very calm cabin, excellent control on the road with excellent safety features it took my heart. I am so happy with my purchase.

  • The best suv I have owned - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is the best suv I have ever owned, coming out of a lease of a denali which sucked gas I have never been so happy, it first started when my mother purchased a 2008 sonata limited and I thought Hyundai mom why did you purchase a sonata and she replied it drove better then the competition and I have to say it does down to the options Hyundai offers, well I am spoiled and I have to have every option so I purchased a 2008 Santa Fe limited with navigation and bluetooth and every option you can get including every accessory down to the wheel locks, mud guards tubes and the cross rails front bra and cargo tray etc, I love this vehicle so much I would definately repurchase again way to go!

  • Excellent SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe is an excellent SUV at a low price. It combines a comfortable ride with secure handing and many standard features at a low price. But acceleration and fuel economy dont match up to todays standards. Overall it is a great vehicle and I recommend it to anyone wanting a small SUV. Reliability is great, too.

  • What a great SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Not only was this my first new car, but my first SUV. I never road in a SUV with such a smooth ride. You forget its a SUV because the ride feels like a car. My mother had the Jeep Liberty and hated it because of the rough ride. When she drove the Santa Fe, she feel in love. Everything about this SUV is great. The style, performance, gas miles, ride, etc. I would recemmend it to anyone.

  • BEST VEHICLE EVER!!! - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

This is our 11th time buying a new vehicle and the first time buying a foreign vehicle. The Santa Fe is our favorite vehicle ever. It is fun to drive and very easy to handle. Even though we live in snowy Minnesota, we opted for the FWD and have had no regrets. The FWD handled beautifully in the snow and ice last winter. This vehicle cannot be beat in terms of quality, safety, warranty, price value, and cost to insure. An added bonus is the great dealership where we purchased it - St. Cloud Hyundai. Well be back there the next time we need to buy a vehicle.

  • nice interior, poor mileage - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

After looking at several different SUVs, we decided upon the Sante Fe. You will be challenged to find a different SUV with the options provided on the Sante Fe. The passengers in the back also have heated seats that they control; very nice. The steering is crazy sensitive, and the mpg is no where close to the advertised or what is displayed on the dash; do the math! (#miles / #gal put in). Overall, disappointed Hyundai STILL having mileage issues. I commute weekly (120 miles round trip). The average mpg shown on the dash is always higher than the actual by 3-5mpg! Been to shop multiple times and dealer agrees there is a problem. overall, I average 22mpg
