Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • I LOVE HYUNDAIS - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is my 2nd Hyundai and I will never buy another another make of vehicle again. I have NEVER had one problem with my Santa Fe and never had a problem with the Elantra that I owned prior. The reliability cannot be matched by any american vehicle(Im sorry to say) The standard and safety features are great and so is the warranty. The SUV could be a little larger and the seats could be a little more comfortable too. I bought the automatic 4cyl. instead of the 6 cyl. because they get better gas mileage but I have noticed that sometimes it seems you really have to put the pedal to the medal to accelerate fast. But overall this is a wonderful SUV that I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

  • A Luxury Hyundai? Who Knew? - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Ive been a minivan driver for 10 years, but this year upgraded to my first "luxury" car. Ive always been ambivalent about cars -- just get me to and from and Im happy. But I love this car! It rides like an absolute dream. Most recently I had a used 2001 Odyssey that I have to say, I hated. It was never that comfortable and I had a devil of a time figuring out the panel. My husband had an Elantra I took over but wanted something bigger for kids, groceries, etc. and got the 7 seater. This car is total luxury, great ride, beautiful. I admit, I havent taken it on the highway yet, but I think itll make any trip more enjoyable.

  • Love my new Santa Fe! - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Shopped 6 months before deciding on the Santa Fe (LWB). Looked at the Flex, Traverse, Acadia, Pilot and Highlander, and dollar for dollar the Santa Fe could not be beat. I test drove it on two separate occasions and fell in love with it. Very compliant ride over our terrible city streets, the interior is nice and quiet and even in heavy traffic my son sleeps soundly in the back. Plenty of options and room for everyone and everything we need to haul around, plenty of power in the V6 and Im getting 18.5 mpg city, which is the same as I got in my V6 Camry that I traded in. Very happy with my purchase thus far.

  • Awesome - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Awesome SUV! This is my 3rd Hyundai. I stick with them because they stand behind their product with the best warranty in the business, and I like to purchase with all the options included. I dont like having to pick and choose for options so they can low- ball the price in the advertisements, and then when you go in to shop, you have to add $5,000 to the price! The only thing I would possibly complain about, which was in all of the reviews, is that it is a little slow off the start. This vehicle is heavy compared to similar vehicles, and the small 2.7L engine could use a little more umph to get going. Otherwise, as the title says, AWESOME!

  • Best SUV in its Class - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I had to purchase a new car in a hurry, and test drove every SUV in the under 25,000 price range. I drove most at least twice. The Sante Fe is Roomier on the inside, has more options that are considered standard features, is more comfortable than all of the other brands. I have been driving this car since July, and it is the most fun car to drive that I have ever owned or ridden in.

  • Solid & Reliable - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Pricing and warranty blew away everything in its class. I was impressed by the low cost 10year/100,000 mile optional warranty I purchased because it was proof that Hyundai was standing behind their product. Ive never seen this degree of confidence by any other manufacturer. This vehicle is NOT a "toy mini SUV"; its built very solid, has excellent handling, and still runs as good as it did when I drove it off the lot. After almost 3 years and 40K miles Ive had zero problems. I rarely take it offroad, but when I do it has excellent clearance and suspension that handle anything you will find on a gravel road. Speed bumps ? Hah! This thing mows em down like they werent even there.

I only purchased my Santa Fe 2 weeks ago but so far i love it. It is very comfortable. I cant wait to take it on a trip. It is very stylish and all my neighbors are complimenting me. I will write again after I have the car longer. I did a lot of research before I purchased and found that it was the most car for the money in its class. I dont understand why all the manufacturers are selling cars with roof racks but no cross rails.

  • Braking Problem - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I have 2007 Senta Fe that had CV joint rotation issue. i had it replaced. Later I have an issue with its breaks. It seems to have a longer breaking distance than SUVs I ownered before. In the last snow storm, the vehicle failed to stop safely within 25 feet @ a speed of 15 MPH. It resulted in a $6000 frontal damage to my car, with minor damage to car in front. I had the brakes checked and the shop told me that brakes/ pads are fine. I do not know how to correct this issue. Can anyone advise me how to resolve this issue? Thanks.

First care weve owned that we didnt have to have at the dealership for warranty work. In fact, its nearly 2 years old and still no warranty work. Love the car.
