Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • My third Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have owned 3 Santa Fes and would buy another if they keep improving. I purchased the 2007 last May and drove it to California and back in June. The ride was fine, gas mileage was and still is 22 in city and highway. The only problem that I had was a blow out in Colorado. Try finding a 17 inch tire on a Saturday morning. I am now stuck with a top of the line Michelin that had to be replaced by the stock tire for the vehicle when I got home. I would recommend Hyundai vehicles to any one.

  • A great SUV - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe

Excellent value for the price. Comparable vehicles cost much more. Other than the normal minor issues that are associated with "First Year" vehicles, this was my best experience, and continues to be.

  • Repeat Hyundai owner - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

This is the 3rd Hyundai I have owned. The first was over 20yrs ago when we lived on the west coast. Brought it back to the midwest and was so happy with performance. 15 years later I got an Elantra. Loved it till my son totaled it in an accident. It did in an accident. It held up very well. Now I have my Santa Fe..2 years now. It has been fun to drive, mileage traveling 24-29 mpg on the hwy and never less than 19.5 even in our Michigan winters. When I need a replacement(hopefully many years away) I will head right back to my dealer for another Hyundai

We have had our Santa Fe for a little over a month and are very satisfied with the way it drives the fit and the finish. A high quality vehicle Hyundai have come a long way in the past 20 years. Heads up Toyota..

  • I really like my Santa Fe - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought the "bait and switch" car from the newspaper ad, so I think I got a very good price. Its stripped down, 4 cylinder, front wheel drive, but has the bluetooth, ipod connector, hands-free phone, and radio controls on the steering wheel. today, its 1 year old, 10,000 miles. Mileage is about 22 in the city but rises to 26+ on the highway if I keep to 65 and use the "manual" feature of the automatic transmission to force it to stay in 6th gear. I also drive conservatively in general. It will get up and go if you ask it to, but mpgs will suffer.

  • Great car for the price - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Researched many different models before settling for Hyundai.I have had the car for two weeks now and have more than 1000 miles on it. It is very comfortable. Unlike my Honda Accord that I heard some rattling noise from the dash from day one, I have not noticed any noise or rattle.Fit and finish is on par with a lot more expensive cars in its class.I have become so impressed with Hyundai quality that I am considering another one for my wife. Great job Hyundai.

  • Great Value - minor issues - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Love the size, styling, and extra features like visor extenders, telescoping steering wheel, reclinging rear seats and four power outlets that are unexpected on base models. 24 MPG on first tank of gas in mixed city- highway driving (gentle driver). Smooth engine and transmission, adequate power in 2.7 liter. Have heard the 2.7 gets much better mileage than 3.3.

  • Still in Shock - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

I am a 1st time Hyundai owner. A humbled one I might add. Never even allowed myself to consider this brand. Wanted to move into small SUV and shopped comps at Subaru, Chevy, maz, niss, Dodge, Ford. No one even came close to Hyundais prod and price with awd / auto. Impressed w /the standard options normally reserved for upgrades, 5* consumer reviews, 5* safety, fuel efficiency, space, styling in and out, quality of drive, fab warranty and hassle free buying, great manufacturer financing. While Hyundai is a Korean vehicle, the Santa Fes are built in American factories by Americans. All around I would recommend taking the plunge. A smart buy your not likely to regret

  • 2nd Santa Fe in 4 years and still amazed - 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

This is my second Santa Fe and 3rd Hyundai in 4 years. My first was a 2002 GLS 2.7L AWD and I loved it. I traded for this one because I got a really good deal and am not as fond as others over the new bodystyle. Somehow they managed to give even more bang for the buck without compromising anything. My other had 47,300 miles with no major problems over the course. I am confident that this one will do the same. One thing that I have noticed is that a K & N air filter is worth the investment with these things. I am confident in this vehicle and recommend it to anyone who might be considering buying one. I was a skeptic in 2002 but now am a Hyundai-loyalist.

The Santa Fe has excllent handling and excellent acceleration. Although considered to be underpowered most rumors are based in fiction. The interior is much bigger than other SUV in its class.
