Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • I love my sante fe - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

all I can say is I love my santa fe. Its great. It drives like a car. It feels like a car And most of all I look great in it.Moreover it feels like it was built just for me. Oh yea My wife loves it also. We also have a beautiful little girl name sami. she loves to hang her head out of the window. When I had my old car we had to beg her to get in. Now she almost knocks me down to get in our sant fe so she can go for a drive. some times she just gets in the santa fe and look at me saying lets go.

  • 28K brakes and bad engine sensors - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I experienced 2 bad "Check Engine" sensors and the brakes wore out prematurely at only 28K miles. The 10/100000 warranty is fine, but my local dealers are sub par so I had to take the vehicle to dealers that are further from home. One of these other dealers recognized the sensor failures and fixed them and recognized the brake problems. I got after market brake pads from another company because I didnt trust the Hyundai brake pads. It lacks power with the 2.7 liter V6 engine. The cobalt-blue paint has a high chip rate.

  • A Winner - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Car is new but already has shown good manners. Eye height is high, a feature we wanted. Entry and exit is easy, a feature we demanded. Full list of safety features was absolutely essential. Ours is the five person capacity model, which was our choice. The storage provided by the lack of the third row seat is much more usable to us that the seat would ever be. The exterior color is good, the name of the exterior color - khaki - is probably a turn off for some folks. It was time for the mini-van to go, hello SUV.

  • Ride quality NOT good, all else very good - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Traded in 08 Sonata. Hyundai quality and warranty is great. Ride quality on our Santa Fe is awful. If I had to do it over again, I wouldnt buy the Santa Fe until Hyundai gets the ride better. I know its an SUV, but ride should still be better. Plenty of power from V-6. Mileage is ok at best. We are averaging about 21.5 in mixed driving. About to take long highway trip, so intersted to see how the mpg is on highway.

I am very pleased with my Sante Fe. It drives great in the snow and rain.

  • Love this SUV - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Ive only had this vehicle a month but the smooth ride and comfortable seating is great. Ive had it in the snow and it holds the road very nicely with the 4WD. The only thing I dont like is that the lock/unlock buttons and the cruise on the steering wheel are not lit when the lights are on. You cant see them in the dark and this in my eyes is a safety hazard if you have to look for them. Other then that I have to say This vehicle is great to own...

  • Happy Hyundai Santa Fe Owner - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Its been almost 7 years & I still love my Santa Fe. Still handles smoothly & gets great mileage:21-23 mpg. So glad I went w/the AWD 3.5L engine. The maintenance schedule has been easy to follow. Only used the warranty once 3 yrs ago for a sticky exhaust valve that kept triggering the check engine light. It handles snowy & twisty mountain roads just as easily as commuter miles. Has been great for home depot trips, camping & road trips, skiing, & taking the dog out for a beach day. Passengers love the roominess & comfort of the backseat plus the great storage capacity in the cargo area. Bought softer tires for a quieter ride. Curious to see how well it holds up for the next 100K miles
