Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Excellent Crossover SUV - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have a 2007 FWD SE Santa Fe in Slate Blue and I am very impressed and happy with my purchase. The Santa Fe handles well, looks good and is fun to drive. On top of that, it comes with one of the best warranties available all at a great price. I havent had a chance to do any long distance driving yet, but in city driving and on my 15 mile commute I have been getting around 21 MPG.

  • Hyundai - shame on you - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I purchased the Hyundai because they touted their long warranty. I have attempted to have a vent knob repaired, which is covered "under warranty". The car has been to the dealer 3 times (a total of 18 hours) and I have spent over 3 hours on the phone to try and convince HyundaiUSA to fulfill their warranty. Each time I bring it to the dealer, they conveniently find another item that needs to be repaired, that is not covered by warranty. The dealer insists that it will take them, "the majority of the day", to repair and "I must leave it with them". I obtained a part to repair it myself. It took 4 minutes and 25 seconds. HyundaiUSA shame on you for condoning these unscrupulous actions.

This is one of the best cars I have ever owned. I reviewed every vehicle in this category and I found this was by far the best choice for me. We have had one year of trouble free driving and I still would buy the Santa Fe again. I love the ride, the interior, the quietness, and the performance. All my friends are impressed with this vehicle because we can carry four or five comfortably. The size is just right. I have never gotten less than 20 mpg.

  • More Than I Expected - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

My wife and I could not believe the number of options that were standard on our Santa Fe. The LX trim line really comes loaded to the point that you feel that you are in a luxury vehicle. Top that off with better than average performance and a very comfortable ride and you cant help but fall in love with the Santa Fe.

  • Santa Fe regrets... - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Until recently I loved the Santa Fe, great gas mileage, great looking, good performance... until last year... things started failing, the axles broke... yes broke, within the axle boot, something let go, vehicle wouldnt move. 1 month later, the wheel bearing went, most recently the engine failed... everything within the engine, there wasnt much left of the engine, the service guy said it "grenaded". This left us stranded in the middle of nowhere without a warning. No strange noises, no tell tale warning signs of impending failure... nothing. Shut it off normally then went out to start it and nothing... this thing was seized up, the engine would not turn at all... Now it sits in the shop..

  • Love it, love it, love it! - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Great looking SUV and runs, drives and handles even better. Ride is a little firm on rough roads, but excellent on a good highway. The 3.3 V6 performs much better than the 2.7 with the same highway MPG rating. We LOVE the great looking beige premium cloth interior as well as the other upgrades that come with the SE package. The Limited package is nice, but we just dont like leather seats and one summer in Alabama will enlighten you as to why!

  • EXCELLENT SMALL SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

This truck has an unbelieveable ride, not bouncy like most SUVs.Very roomy for this class.Power is adequate for a small SUV. Decent gas mileage.I have had it for over a year and still no problems.Drive one before you buy anything else...then compare the prices and if you are smart you will probably pick the Hyundai.

  • Great car for the money and tough - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Only problem we have ever had was the visor breaking, other than that nothing. We do change oil and do all the pm to the car. The dealer has been great to deal with as well. Just like with anything take care of it and it will take care of you.
