Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • IF this one ever dies, Ill buy another! - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Dollar per mile, this is the best car I have ever owned. With over 85,000 on it already, its just breaking in. I dont think this vehicle will ever die. VERY upstanding company to deal with. Due to a misrepresentation in MPG, I got a bump on the warranty to 120,000 and $275 in dealer cash from a class action law suit! Try to get that from any other car company! If youre not into status symbols, keeping up with the Jones, or horsepower, then youll be among the intelligent, frugal, money conscience crowd. As long as Hyundai keeps up the quality and warranty levels, I will never buy anything else.

  • My favorite car so far - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have been watching the 2007 Santa Fe much of this year and have been impressed with the reviews, with Hyudais company performance, and with the assembly plant in Alabama. After seeing one live and driving it, I was sold. My criteria for a vehicle was safety, comfort and quiet, looks, and lastly fun to drive (in that order). The Santa Fe satisfies all of these quite nicely. Our other vehicle is a Lexus RX350, and the SF holds its own against it. The ride is smooth and it is extrememly quiet. Power is more than adequate for my needs. The fit and finish are great. The third row seats are much roomier and more comfortable that I had envisioned. They are super easy to get in and out of too.

  • First time SUV owner - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

This SUV is not perfect, but its 4 to 10 thousand less than the Rav4, Highlander and Pilot. Not as powerful as the Rav4, but on par with all of them. Ive got the SE 3.3 V6 and Ive been averaging about 21 MPG in stop and go commuting. 5 issues that Ive noticed so far. 1) Only lowing the rear windows sometimes causes a percussive booming against the back window. 2) No aux input or easy way to connect MP3 player to stock stereo. 3) Manual lumbar and height adjustment are worthless. 4) Seat Height adjustment lever is right where I place my behind when I get in. This might break over time. 5) Front window sill where the wipers park will fill with snow. Overall, these are small issues.

In my 30+ driving years nothing has psyced me up like the Santa Fe. The ride is smooth like a car, and not like a truck. The sound system is excellant.

I bought the SAnta Fe GLS AWD on April 5, 2002. I have been looking for a Great SUV that has good gas mileage and stylish. Even more important cost!! I have had no problems with the Santa Fe yetr and dont forsee any problems in the future. I have taken out the desert and to the mountains for a little off- road action. It handled AWSOME. felt like I was in a Lexus, smooth, yet rugged enough to handle everything I thru at it.

  • I would definitely buy a third hyundai - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Now that I have owned & driven this vehicle for almost 2 full years and put over 40,000 miles on it. This santa fe lx has been one of the most enjoyable and trouble free cars I have ever owned. The fuel mileage has gotten better the more I use it and drive it at reasonable speeds.

  • A lot of bang for the buck - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

The Santa Fe is just the right size for me, not too small like the CRV or RAV4 but still small enough to be fun to drive. I bought the Limited with navigation, and the IPOD integration, blue tooth, and nav system, and satellite radio and backup camera all work wonderfully. The 6 cylinder has great pick-up. Ive been averaging 21 MPG with mostly city driving. Taking some 6 footers out to lunch, they found the back seat roomy and comfortable. The cargo room is very spacious. The paint job is top-notch. Fit and finish inside and outside are outstanding. The dash controls are wonderfully laid out. The leather seats up front with the power seat is very comfortable.
