Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Bought Santa Fe 2.0T in July to replace a much loved 2002 CRV. Thus far have found the car to be very fun to drive, comfortable at highway speeds, and the perfect size for driving around town. Only time will tell regarding reliability and dealer service. I have not had any complaints with the steering (as others have reported), and the 2.0T has plenty of power even in the ECO mode. My only complaint is the blind spot created by the severely angled rear windows. They seem to have sacrificed clear sight lines for styling.

I just traded in my 2000 Sonata GLS V6 with 26,000 miles on it for a new 2002 Santa Fe. It was a demo from the dealer and had 3000 miles on it. It is a 4 cylinder and the automatic transmission. I have heard that the the V6 is the way to go but I absolutely love my new 4 cylinder Santa Fe!! It is totally loaded with ABS, cargo net, remote and the cargo cover. It is a silver beauty. This is my third Hyundai that I have purchased and I am very impressed with the Hyundai line.

I still love my Santa Fe after owning it for 5 yrs. It is just now starting to get little things wrong with it after 67,000 miles on it such as the light on the radio doesnt work, just replaced a brake switch, plugs and small things like that. The only major problem Ive had is the air conditioner went out, thru trial and error with the dealership, they finally had to call the company, to find out it was the computer. They replaced it free of charge under the warranty with no problems. Ive never had a car to compare with this one. Dont like the style of the new ones, but would love to have a new one just like I have now.

My 1st Hyundai, will definitely not be the last! Looked at CR-V, RAV-4, Jeep and more, chose Santa Fe for a few reasons: best looking, best size, best price, best warranty, on and on and on. Bought as a program car, best vehicle purchase I ever made. Traded 03 Chev Trailblazer (possibly the WORST vehicle ever made!) and have been nothing but happy with the Santa Fe. North Dakota winters are no problem with AWD. Fuel economy not exactly what I expected (or told by dealership) but not too bad. Just drove the family to central Florida and back with no complaints.

Ive owned my vehicle for 18 months. I have had no problems what-so-ever. The gas mileage is consistent on the highway or in the city at 20 - 22 mpg. I enjoy driving and appreciate the unique looks.

Prior to purchasing this vehicle, we looked at Subarus. As I was on my fourth and was very pleased with the vehicle. I did a lot of research on both vehicles and we felt as far as value goes, we could not go wrong with our purchase of a 2003 Santa Fe LX AWD. The warranty told us that the Company was going to be here down the road. Hyundai Industries, has a lot of money behind them and as soon as they find their niche in the marketplace, you will find this vehicle, retailing for at least 3000.00 more.

I have had my Hyundai a year now and could not be more satisfied. I really like the 10 year warranty. I like it also because I feel safe driving it. I will by another one when its time to buy again.!

  • Bad transmission - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Do not buy this car! I only have 8,000 miles and the transmission is faulty. Hyundai will only put a refurbished one in and not a new one. Many other Santa Fe owners are having the same problems, stay away from this car.
