Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Great vehicle - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
By captk321 - December 14 - 8:15 amNearing 3,000 miles and am still impressed with the Santa Fe. The V6 performs well. Mileage has been averaging 22 around town. Nice leather with the Limited pkg. Infinity sound system sounds good but nothing special. No road trip yet but am looking forward to one soon.

Best vehicle - I ever owned - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By carjoanda - December 13 - 10:00 amThe Santa Fe does everything well. I have been in the woods on logging trails, gone through deep puddles of water and mud. climbed steep hills and it has resonalbe clearance. Day to day - excellent ride over hyway and backroads. great heater and A/C. 218 watts for the stereo. Also a lot of room with and without hte seats folded in back. Oh - went through 18 inches of fresh snow from a stand still -

BIG BOY - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By G.HARRISON - December 13 - 10:00 amI HAVE ONLY OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR A VERY SHORT TIME. HOWEVER, SO FAR I HAVE FOUND THE VEHICLE TO BE VERY EASY TO HANDLE, IT DRIVES VERY SMOOTHLY, I FEEL AS THOUGH I AM STILL DRIVING A CAR INSTEAD OF AN SUV. I DO FEEL THE VEHICLE BURNS ALOT OF GAS. I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND. NOT A BAD DEAL FOR THE PRICE, THE SOUND SYSTEM COULD BE IMPROVED.

Nice car, terrible mileage - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By susanjb1 - December 12 - 2:12 pmI got this car in March 2010. It is extremely comfortable and has great standard features like heated leather seats. Looks like a much more expensive car on the inside. I have had several minor mechanical problems that needed fixing, which is annoying but not fatal. The worst thing about the car is the terrible mileage it gets. It says 20/28 - I have never even come close to 28 on the highway even with total highway driving and driving conservatively. The best you can hope for is about 18/21 and thats driving conservatively. How they got the EPA rating they have on this car is a mystery.

Impressive Hyundai - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By rondo - December 8 - 5:53 pmIt made sense to buy a Santa Fe. Gas mileage was ok, there were alot of options for a low price and warranty was better then most other similar vehicles. The 3.5 engine is zippy and has alot of passing and towing power. Smooth ride and great acceleration. The full time AWD is great but Ive noticed the traction control operates roughly during acceleration from stop on a slippery road. I really like the seats and the driving position, which makes a 5+ hour drive more tolerable. After 75000 miles, the car hasnt had any problems and still drives like new.

2.7 + 5 spd manual, a mistake - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By whoops - December 7 - 12:13 pmPurchased the 2.7 with 5 speed manual. This power train combination is very disappointing and should be avoided. Recommended shift points are at 15 mph. 25 mph. 35 mph. and 45mph (each of these coincide with very close to 3,000 rpm). Slower-than- expected acceleration from a stop is unnerving, with over-anxious drivers behind you. After 1200 mile break-in (not traveling above 55 mph)the drivetrain mismatch becomes evident, as you can only reach and maintain 65 mph by sustaining 3,000 rpm or higher in 5th gear! Slight hills challenge you to maintain speed, even with no load. I believe this car fails to meet the minimum performance requirements for safe driving on U.S. interstate highways.

Best Mid Size SUV!! - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By olebrumm - December 2 - 10:00 amThis SUV is a great size (not too big, not too small), drives superbly, and you get soooo much value for the money. Sound system is great, seats are comfortable, lots of room in back seat and cargo area.

Love my Santa Fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By champsmom - December 1 - 2:00 amIt is a brand new experience for my family. The ride is comfy like a car, yet you are elevated like a truck. It is classy without being snobby. You can see out of all windows. Ther is mucho leg-room, which is important for my husband.
