One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers.   I went searching for an SUV for my husband (for business clients and business travel). He wanted a reliable & comfortable 4WD SUV that was stylish and roomy...he also did not want to pay 30,000K for it. Well, my 2.5 year daughter and I must have test driven every 2003 4WD SUV that was available. Like the: Tribute, Rav4, XTERRA, Rendezvous, Blazer, Tracker, VUE, Escape, CR-V, 02 Passport, Rodeo, Liberty, Sorento, Montero Sport, Outlander, X-L7, Grand Vitara, Highlander.... Out of all of the Above 1. 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe 4WD V6 SUV Led the way in style, and price!

  Researched for over 2 months for a good SUV and zeroed onto Acura MDX and Hyundai Santa Fe. Of course, both cars are not in the same league to compare, but when value for money and budget push to make a choice, Santa Fe is a nice pick. Drove about 2K miles in last 40 days and its been a great ride so far. Its very smooth, nice pick-up and a great handling. Rides like a car. Mileage improved to 21 MPG HWY from 17 MPG HWY over the period. I prefer fill up with Premium fuel as I get better pick-up and less engine noise than the regular fuel.I think $100/year extra on fuel for better engine life, pick up and good feel is worth paying for(purely personal opinion) Two Thumbs up, Hyundai :)

  Lets just get right to it. A terriable metal noise in the back door.Dealer claims this is normal .to me and everyone else sounds like a pop weld somewhere between panels. how about a terriable squeaking noise in my driver seat sounds like a broken bed spring. Dealer claims this is normal. And how about a loud humming noise from the stereo system. Again dealer said this is normal. And how about help from Hyundai customer service. NO WAY DEALER CLAIMS CAR UP TO SPECS WE VALUE WHAT ARE DEALER TELLS US??. What a shame i only have 2300 miles it could of been a good value for the money. I guess I will look and trade my car in. my loss and my gain into a quantiy car this time like Honda.

  I have owned this car for over five months I I could not be happier! It has the feel of a much more expensive luxury car and it comes with features that belong in a luxury car. The best value for the money out there!

  Theres not much more I can say that hasnt already been said. The Santa Fe is very nice. Its only bad points are that it is under powered and that gas milage is bad. Im sure anyone that buys one will be happy with it.

  I absolutely adore this vehicle. I have had many vehicles over the years and this one is by far the best. My only complaint is the gas mileage. Other than that - it is fantastic!!

  After spending nearly $30,000 for a Hyundai with a 4 cylinder engine I thought I would get the mileage posted on the sticker 20/28. Instead I am getting 16/ 22. The vehicle occasionally lunges forward when driving in stop and go traffic. The zone service Mgr rode with me but the vehicle did not lunge during that half hour. I have a case filed with Hyundai. I hope this isnt something like the Toyota problem with gas pedals. It makes me feel uneasy.
