Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • I Luv It!!! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have driven lots of cars/trucks/suvs in my years as a car owner. I would buy this SUV again in a heartbeat. I drive 100 miles a day just back and forth to work. The only thing I have had to do is tires, breaks, and normal maintenance required for the warranty. (timing belt, tensioner @ 60,000) I get GREAT gas mileage (26-26 mpg) considering the weight of Santa Fe. My mother bought herself a Santa Fe 6 months after I got mine, and loves hers as well. I would recommend this SUV to anybody, and have. Well worth every penny.

  • Chronic Sensor Problems - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Although a comfortable car, I have had chronic problems with the sensors since it reached about 13,000 miles. I currently only have 21,000 miles, and yet it has been in the shop three times this summer, and probably 8 times last summer. Every time they think they have found which sensor it is, a few weeks later the check engine light comes on after the car starts hesitating and what seems like misfiring. When you pay $26000 for a new car, you should be able to rely on it when you still have such low mileage.

  • Dont Buy It - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Youll be tempted but DONT Buy It. Value is relative and warranty is only as good as the Company. And that isnt so good. Mine has been in the shop hals as long as I ave owned it. Poor residual value and high operation costs significantly reduce perceived value. Sucks gas like a Hummer, poor ride-handling, partly due to junk Bridgestone Dueler tires. Very severe torque steer. The whole car is a set of trade offs. A lot of features, but all very poor quality. I will trade soon and eat the loss but be done with it. Ill stick with Honda or Toyota, or even GM is better.

  • 2nd Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I just traded a 2003 Santa Fe for a 2007 Limited. This car drives better than my wifes Highlander and friends Lexus RX. The quality and style in one package are the best for the money. I loved my 2003 Santa Fe, but this car is a world of difference in quality and ride. If you are considering a mid- size SUV do yourself a favor and test drive the new Santa Fe.

  • New Hyundai Satisfied Customer - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Used your web site, shopped 5 different models of SUV,drove, talked and settled on the Hyundai. Absolutely one of the best cars(???) Ive ever owned. There is nothing I would change about this vehicle, except, maybe I should have bought earlier.

Great vehicle to drive. Surpasses my 2002 Honda CRV EX that I had. Car is well put together. Engine is so smooth.

  • Handy - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Great fuel mileage for a 104 mile a day commute. Handy to zip in and out of small parking spots & great to go shopping in.

  • fun,affordable luxury - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

The Sante Fe is truly my favorite SUV of them all, it handles unbelievably well in winter conditions, the sleek look makes it a real eye catcher and the heated leather seats are a luxury. The interior is very roomy, plenty of cargo space. Its a little hard on fuel. An overall fun affordable luxury SUV.

I have had this vehicle since 2001 and has over 165,000 miles! It wasnt been without its share of problems though. The first major repair was a new transmission at 20k. Lots of other problems too all covered under the warranty. Since the bumper to bumper warranty has been out, only a few minor repairs, so I cant complain too much. Factory put quality tires on, didnt get a new set till 100k! Its a very comfortable vehicle and has been on many, many road trips. I think it may be getting time for a new vehicle, Hyundai will probably be at the top of my list, I think theyve come a long way since 01, and the warranty and affordability cant be beat.
