Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Excellent - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Sold - May 22 - 5:06 amEx-owner of a Pontiac Grand Prix I was somewhat apprehensive about getting a Santa Fe. However after 2 months I have no regrets at all in having purchased the Santa Fe. The interior is spacious and well made. The exterior is an eye opener compared to the previous models. The drive is smooth and very comparible to the Grand Prix which was superb. The handling is very good. No regrets what so ever would recommend it to anybody.

Great SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By David Ludington - May 21 - 10:00 amWe have 31000 miles on it and have never had a problem with anything. We cannot say the same for the Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon, or GMC Jimmy and Suburban we have owned. It is a fun vehicle to drive.

Love the 3.5 L engine!! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Christina Alsaady - May 17 - 9:46 amWe initially bought this vehicle for the warranty but found it to be an incredible SUV! We opted for all the extras & are completely satisfied. The 3.5 L engine is very quick & powerful. The comfort is great & we use this for every family vacation. We have put around 70000 miles on it & only have had to change the front brakes!! (Even has the original tires) Just change the oil every 3000 miles & watch her go!!

By Rolando - May 16 - 12:50 pmWe purchased this SUV a couple of months ago.I trade in a Dodge Caravan 2005. This Santa Fe 2008 so far is an excellent vehicle inside comfort for family. Kids love it. Gas could be better but not that bad.

Overall a great car - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
By paulsparrow - May 16 - 10:46 amAfter we drove ours off the lot we immediately had two problems. Paint was flecking off and our transmission went. The paint was redone on the trouble spots at no charge and we havent had issues since. The transmission was replaced only to be replaced again a few months later. Since then we have had no troubles. Outside of oil changes, the odd light etc this car has been for the most part great. Two issues we have had to date have been the speedometer has gone four times now, each not covered. The other is the one power window has gone twice now. No engine problems or other cosmetic problems. Overall a fantastic deal

Love my Santa Fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By knduck - May 15 - 10:00 amI had so many problems with my last car that having a santa fe is great!!! I have never had a problem or had to bring it in the shop (except for oil changes). I treat a car pretty rough, so I appreciate the fact that my Santa Fe is right there with me!

hyundai is a fallacy - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By molly - May 7 - 9:13 pmEverything was ok for 3 yrs. At 4th yr mark, around 60,000 miles after your initial warranty kicks out, everything started falling apart. A timing belt $700.00. Lots of problems w/tires 1st yr owning car. Now in our 5th year, no more warranty, 71,000 miles & we are having Major problems. Was told it would cost $2800! Car is only worth $4000 - $5000 at this point. We have a 2007 sonata. Will never buy another Hyundai. They are not made when at all & that whole 100,000 warranty thing is a hoax. The car will not make it that far without costing you lots in repairs. We will buy a Toyota next time around.
