Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

More than expected - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Happy Hyundai - September 1 - 10:00 amOverall, my Hyundai purchase has been a very pleasant surprise. It is a fantastic value - the car looks and drives like a luxury SUV. The outside design is great and the inside is filled with intutitive features and extras - it even has a first aid kit.

By shelley - September 1 - 10:00 amFell in love at first sight. Drove 2.5L, got 3.5 L. More get up and go. Same gas milage as 2000 Grand Prix. Make up excuses to drive. Get looks all the time especially since had really great graphics put on sides. New liscense plate surrounds finish the look.

I love this SUV! - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By ica1972 - August 28 - 6:33 pmThis has been a fantastic vehicle for a commuter driving 90+ miles five days a week. The fuel economy isnt all that great, but I feel safe and I love the ride. I drive over quite a few mountains and steep hills, it handles perfectly in all kinds of precipitation including 10" of snow covered ice. Fan tends to blow in your face or off parts of the vehicle back into your face.

Brake hog - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By KATHY SEDGWICK - August 26 - 3:40 pmThis car is a money maker for the service department when it comes to the brakes. I have had to replace the brakes almost every 20,000-25,000 miles. I will not be buying another Hyundai again. Will be going back to a Ford or Chevy!

BAD! - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By hvinroe_2006 - August 25 - 11:26 pmI cant help it this SUV suffers from just plain bad transmission! It makes the driving experience horrible and the dealerships make it worse. They are unwilling to recognize that this transmission slips and has problems. Go figure! Do not buy this until Hyundai is willing to replace this transmission with one that is effective on this powertrain.

Waste of Money.. A LEMON!! - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By buyalemon - August 25 - 12:57 pmMy car has now been in the shop for 44 days and have not had a call from the dealership for a week. purchased the car from West End Hyundai in Edmonton On Oct 20, 2010 and have had nothing but problems since. drove the Coquahalla in severe weather conditions only to find there was no wrench to change the tires if we had a flat.. contacted the dealership but never got a reply.. then the troubles really started, the window would not go down, the truck would not open, car would not go into gear, no reverse, took the car to service centre for the 5th time. More tests. They said 1O Days to have part come from Korea BY BOAT! now 44 days later no car, no loaner, huge disappointment!!

Love My New Santa Fe LX 4WD - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Granny - August 24 - 10:00 amJust bought a Santa Fe LX 4WD with V6 engine. Its great to drive and the most comfortable of the small SUVs. My husband is 67" & weighs 250. This is the roomiest small SUV. Forester was the smallest. He couldnt drive it. Also drove Jeep Liberty, Saturn VUE (nice), & RAV4. I wanted a RAV4 or a Jeep, but this car beat the others out. Didnt try Honda CR-V (couldnt wait, which also ruled out Saturn, but we still liked the Santa Fe better). This car is loaded. There are virtually no options on the LX. Bbought for $550 over invoice. Gas mileage is OK (at least as good as my 95 Taurus wagon). I love this car. Plan to drive it 100K mi.

Love this car. - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By l0vedriving - August 23 - 8:47 amThis car was passed down to us from my grandparents, then to my parents, now us. It was originally purchased as a grocery/errands car and now is our everyday driver. This car is fantastic. Never had any major problems. Just one, our sunroof wind deflector came loose and we had that fixed by the dealer. We purchased a brand new 2012 Mazda Cx-7 with similar options minus leather and this car blows it out of the water. More power, better gas MPG, seat warmers are warmer. My daughter has much more room and it has much better trunk space. The Mazda has been nothing but issues since 30k miles. We are at 93k on the Hyundai with NO problems. Buy Hyundai it is totally worth it!

why "hyundai" Ill tell you why - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By jim - August 22 - 3:00 amill have to say i was skeptical when i bought my first korean car.but i convinced myself that the quality was there and I have not been disappointed. i fIrst bought the Azera, the absolute finest car I own..and i currently own a Lexus and BMW(big family)..all are recent models..these are both great cars..however..I needed another vehicle and chose to look at the sante fe for my wife..she loves it and so do I. I totally agree with the other reviews on gas mileage, and i get as advertised..on the first 3-4 tanks. i just bought on 12-31..but the styling and ride as well as the price i was out the door for 21500... it has close comparisons to the RX-330 and blows away competion at price/warranty
