Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Nice little SUV - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By GoHawks - September 11 - 10:20 amSmaller SUV but looks much better than others in the market. Decent gas mileage for an SUV but not great. Runs well, looks good, sounds good, overall a nice vehicle.

Better than expected - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Jerry1225 - September 10 - 8:20 amI live in the Philadelphia area and we had a 26" snowfall followed 3 days later by a 20" blizzard with freezing rain and sleet. The Santa Fe handled the 26" snowfall without getting stuck once. It did get a little dicey here and there. The blizzard on top of it was too much and it got stuck a couple of times. So did just about everything else.

ERRATIC STEERING PROBLEMS - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By rockyatv - September 7 - 12:59 pmWe purchased a 2013 Sport 2.0 Turbo Oct 2012 and have only put on 4000 miles since then because of the poor steering. Picked it up on a Friday night and was back on Saturday, could not drive it on highway and keep it between the lines. Have had it back 6 times, adjusted the alignment, flashed the computer and even put in a new steering column and still have the problem. Filed under the Lemon law and have been going through the process for 4 months. Have to go through the BBB auto line before the state. BBB is funded by the auto industry, just found out our claim was rejected, even after the arbitrator had an expert driver do the report. DONT BUY WITHOUT DRIVING ON HIGHWAY,WORST DRIVE.

Im officially brand loyal! - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Tom - September 7 - 11:06 amThis is my third Hyundai and must tell you that they continue to exceed my expectations. I purchased a used 2003 Santa Fe on the recommendation of my good friend who works for BMW. I was looking for a commuter car to take me from my North New Jersey home to my NYC office each day. 150,000 miles later and very little maintenance I decided to purchase another Santa Fe. I love the evolution of this vehicle. It looks great, handles great and is fun to drive. At the end of the day, you cant beat the warranty and I must say their service has been excellent. Maintenance a very reasonable as well!

the new toyota - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By cool warranty - September 7 - 10:00 amWe have had our santa fe for about 3 1/2 months now and we love it. We took it on a road trip from southern cali all the way up north to napa valley. The ride was great, smooth, quiet, and fun. Despite some reviews ive read saying its underpowered i do not believe so with the 3.5 liter engine. Its no sports car but it does have get up and go. We researched almost all the suvs out there (ford tribute, rav4, nissan xtera, jeep, montero, the hondas, mountaineer and kia) and for price, features, warranty and safety the santa fe was our winner. The price, safety, and warranty lead us to the santa fe. (check out the warranty and research it online.)

BAD fuel economy - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Ron - September 3 - 1:56 pmWe have had this suv for about 9 months. We had been promised that it would get about 24 mpg on the highway, NOT. If we drive it like a little old lady, it only gets 18. If you are looking to save a few bucks on gas, do not buy a Santa Fe!!!! The car itself seems well built and the kids like the reclining back seats. (One of the reasons we bought the car). I am 6 2" and the driver seat could go back a little more. NOT A BAD CAR, JUST BAD MPG!!!!!! Hyundai should be made to pull the ads about mileage.

Great Mid Size SUV! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By DTrain - September 2 - 10:40 amPurchased for wife 12 months ago, she averages 19mpg city and on highway trips we are averaging 26.5mpg (500 mile trips). I dont know why other posts are lower, maybe we got a "good" one, we bought the FWD, not the AWD. Cuts through Wisconsin snow like butter, even with just FWD. SMOOTH and QUIET, I challenge you to find a smoother riding and quieter vehicle for under 30k. Fit and finish exceeded our expectations, our neighbor owns a Lexus RX330, I feel our Santa Fe matches the Lexus across the boards. Just a great value, Hyundai has definetly stepped up their game. We were initially scared to buy the Santa Fe because it was a "Hyundai", after one year, NO REGRETS, Great purchase!
