Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Very Nice! - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By paulnz - November 18 - 11:33 amConsumer Reports summed it up in one word - pleasant! It is an all-around nice vehicle. Nice ride, comfortable, good power, safe, and very quiet. After putting 1,600 miles on it, I am more impressed with it now than when we originally purchased it. We tried the competitors - Rav, CRV, Forester - but the Santa Fe beat them all in our book. We were hesitant to purchase because of the past unreliable reputation of Hyundai, but took a chance. Hopefully it will prove as reliable as a Honda or Toyota over time. The long warranty offers some peace of mind as well.

Great Buy! - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By AdamJ - November 11 - 10:00 pmThis is a great vehicle. Rides very smooth and handles like a car. My wife and I traded in her Tiburon so we got the loyalty discount plus some other discounts. The people at the dealership were great and made buying the car a no hassle deal. The gas milage is decent I guess considering it is a V6 and an SUV, but I have been used to a 4 cylinder engine and a small car.

SRS Issues Following OCS Recall Fix - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
By donmou - November 2 - 10:38 pmThe vehicle was serviced June 2013 for the following recalls: SRS PODS and Stop Lamp Switch Replacement. After the recalibration of the SRS PODS system, the Airbag (AIR) warning lamp in the dashboard remained on. The front seat belt tensioner was replaced free of charge, but 9 months later the AIR light came on again and the entire seat needs to be replaced at a cost of $2400 plus tax and labor. I never had any problems with the SRS system until after the recallibration of the SRS PODS system. Prior to this, the transmission and Hydraulic Brake Control Unit were replaced in 2009. The noise thought to be the transmission (prob. valves) went away around 50,000 miles.

Many, Many issues - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By dwmac - October 30 - 6:08 pmWhere to begin? This SUV has been nothing but trouble since rolling it off the lot. Ive been in for warranty work 3 times in two months, with more scheduled next week. In fact, Ive driven more rentals and courtesy cars since owning this than the car itself. Issues I encountered: rear heater only blows cold air, the back window simply shattered had to have replaced (no lie), lumbar button mounted improperly, and only went one way, dash display intermittently cuts in and out, the bluetooth quality is atrocious, the trim paint in the interior will chip off if even breathed on too hard, It wouldnt even turn over twice, still more to list! Beware of this ride. Its riddled with defects

new purchase/new owner - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By angela k - October 25 - 10:00 amIf you are looking for a moderately priced SUV that still has a V-6 engine, all-wheel drive, and plenty of room inside, this is a great choice.

Awsome! - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Robert Car - October 25 - 10:00 amI have been waiting for the 3.5 LX AWD for about a year now. The 2.7 was just not enough for me. I have not been dissapointed! I just love this vehicle. I paid just over $25,000 for it and it has the moonroof, tow package, cross rails, the works.

Former Mercedes Benz owner - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe
By La - October 25 - 10:00 amComing out of a leased Mercedes M class, my Santa Fe has that beat! The Santa Fe has a better feel for the road and is much more reliable. The seating is comfortable and the amenities are comparable if not better than the Benz, both vehicles having similar upgraded packages.

New Santa Fe Owner - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By jpsphr - October 23 - 1:53 amJust let go of an Acura MDX at the end of a four year lease. Loved the MDX. So far, I have to say that the Santa Fe is a much cheaper but almost as satisfying vehicle. Its more the size of an RDX, but the features are similar to the MDX, the Santa Fe is QUIETER and the fuel economy is better. The Acura is quicker, handles a bit better and has a legitimate third row. When I showed the Hyundai off to some friends, they couldnt believe the quality of the fit and finish. Now, lets see if it is as satisfying after 4 years.
