Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Six Month Report A Winner - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By George Whetzel - December 19 - 7:20 amWe selected the Limited for the package creature comforts. I made my decision based on comfort for my 64" height. Have found the ride smooth yet agile, and braking response is excellent. Interior has good ergonomic display, the fit and finish is rich rivaling many upscale players in this market. We chose not to have third row seating, rather have the ample storge, including the hidden compartment in back. Selecting platinum sage paint with grey leather allows the vehicle to stay cooler in the heat of summer. Tinted rear glass helps for both security and interior temps. Observing an average 22-24 mpg we are pleased with the fuel economy. At six months one word: Awesome.

Dont Waste Your Money! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Rschossow - December 17 - 5:43 amWhen I first bought my Santa Fe, I was more than excited. I loved the car, had a great buying experience. 10 months later, I am in arbitration with Hyundai! The transmission slips, the 02 sensors have gone out twice, get 50 miles out of a 1/2 tank of gas, all fuses and sensors had to be replaced, and more. The car has been in the shop for almost 45 days since purchase. Dont let the great warranty fool you, I have had nothing but problems with the company and dealers I have used. If the BBB decides Hyundai does not have to buy back, I will fight it to the end. Waste of my hard earned money!

16 months ownership - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By motorman409 - December 15 - 11:46 amBought the vehicle 16 months ago. Have 28K miles on vehicle. Its been as good a vehicle as I have owned. My buddy just bought a Limited, and another buddy bought a Sonata Limited, partly because of my good experience with the brand. Vehicle is quiet, warms up quickly, runs smoothly. Vehicles are expensive in Canada compared to U.S.

So Many Problems! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Scottielisa - December 5 - 9:03 pmI have had 2 coil packs go bad. 2 oxygen sensors go bad. Twice they had to replace the front sway bars and it sounds like they need replaced again. The right front hub was replaced and now I have a clunking noise when it is down shifting, shifting up from 1st to 2nd and also it happens in reverse. I currently have 63000 miles. 40000 hwy. I bought it for the style and I had a couple other Hyundais so I thought it would be good quality. I dont know if mine was made on a Friday when they wanted to leave early for the weekend and rushed the job, but Im hoping Hyundai will do something about my continued problems with it. Well see.

If it only had a more comfortable ride... - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By steelydan - December 1 - 8:35 pmThis review applies only to the SE and Limted trims with the 18" wheels........NOT THE GLS trim with 16" wheels......BIG DIFFERENCE. My wife drives the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe, good thing, because I would have traded in this rough riding bronco by now...... The engine is sweet, brakes good, interior is well thought out, exterior is good. The biggest and , unfortunately, most notable con is the HARSH ride over the many bumps and potholes on our crappy streets here in West Houston. The 18" wheels are a performance choice for the Santa Fe, as they are the wheels for the SE and Limited trims, not the base GLS trim. It is unfortunate that the BASE model Santa Fe is a more comfortable ride !!!

Tough as nails - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Dave - December 1 - 1:48 amWe tend to be rough on vehicles. With six grandkids (five school age) riding to school each day, then an average of seventy to eighty miles per day being put on this vehicle, it has held up great. Any warranty issues were handled by the dealer with no problem. One hundred and sixty thousand miles and counting!

Not happy with service and Hyundai - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Susan - November 23 - 10:00 amI bought this car and am not happy with the car primarily bc. Hyundai refuses to address my problems with the Air Conditioner. It has a vinegar like smell and the several dealerships refuse to admit that there is a problem. I have owned several Hondas and foreign cars and never before have I met a manufacturer that wont admit to a manufacturing defect. Hyundai has an attitude of superiority starting from the sales department and heading down to the service arena. They dont know how to take care of their customers and treat them with respect and dignity; instead they make you feel as though you are imagining the problem. I will never buy another Hyundai due to lack of integrity!

Impression After 2 Days - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
By NJ Buyer - November 21 - 5:56 pmAfter two days of driving the Santa Fe I am very pleased with my purchase decision. My last 3 cars were Hondas so I was a little hesitant to consider a Hyundai but after a lot of research I learned that the Santa Fe has good reliability and consumers reviews. But I am so glad I did. I really love the exterior and interior styling of the Sana Fe. The power of the V6 is impressive even though I am driving easy for the break-in period. The only negative I have so far is that the suspension is pretty tight and road bumps, etc. can be felt (and heard) in the cabin at times. Although, I am coming from a car so it might be that I am not used to driving a SUV.
