Overview & Reviews
One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.
Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

Sensor Issues - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By incubritt2010 - February 14 - 12:16 amI got my Santa Fe with 68,000, and after 4 other lemons before that, I figured this car would be my knight in shining armor. So, naturally, the transmission went out 6 months after I bought it. Now a year and half later, it just wouldnt start one day. Long story short, Ive now replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor, the Coolant Temperature Sensor, and low and behold, this morning I went to start it and its running crappy still and trying to die on me, obviously not trustworthy. The mechanics are stumped, and so am I. If this happens to you, the code reads, "Fuel temp sensor", get ready for a domino effect of electrical problems that mechanics wont be able to pinpoint.

Surprising in every way... - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By entheo - February 13 - 11:35 pmlet me start by saying that ive previously owned four straight Audis, the last of which felt pretty boring to me, so it was time for a change. after test driving numerous vehicles (including BMW, Porsche) i took a spin in the sante fe 2.0T AWD, and was frankly shocked at how nice it was. ive purchased one and i couldnt be happier -- its quiet, refined, peppy, smooth, handles well and is actually fun to drive. very nice set of features, and of course an outstanding warranty. and all this for half (or more) of what i would have paid for a German counterpart. unless you feel obligated to impress your neighbors with an expensive nameplate you owe it to yourself to take one for a test drive.

Nice car - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Vlad - February 12 - 9:33 pmI really like it. Doing a lot of driving, find this car almost exactly what I need. Despite this is the basic model it has enough for every day extensive driving (sometimes 1000 Km a day). Extra hidden storage in the trunk is amazing! What was a nice surprise for me it ‘s a gas consumption! According to specifications vehicle with manual transmission consumes more gas then automatic. This is NOT TRUE! Manual is very economical and not just has more power, but takes LESS gas. I found the WORSE city driving (heavy traffic and ac constant use) 11L/100Km and 7.5L/100Km on Highway. Excellent on ice and snow and it is not an AWD. This the only SUV of this size and price range which is availa

The Begining - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
By D - February 12 - 9:43 amI just purchased this (New) 2009 Hyundai, Santa Fe and thought I would rate it now, six months and then at the one year mark. I hope you will find it useful in selecting your next vehicle. I am not in any way associated with Hyundai, and no one in my family works for or has any association with Hyundai Inc. I know the site says don’t write about the purchasing, but that was one of the reasons why I selected this vehicle over its competitions. Its value and warrantee were huge draws. I actually selected my new SUV from the inventory online and set the price before I even went to the dealership. Even Taxes, Tags, Titling, Destination costs, everything! I said “I’ll pay this” they said "OK".

Best in Its Class AND Best Value - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
By greatpr - February 5 - 10:00 amLove our new Santa Fe! Hyundai has turned it around! Great SUV. Smoothest ride in class (we drove them all)! Roomy interior. Loaded. Powerful engine, w/ sporty auto-stick. Great service during sale! Plus, it was THOUSANDS less than its closest competitors! Came with a standard 5-year/50k bumper-to-bumber warranty, plus the touted 10-year, 100k powertrain warranty. Headlamp goes out? They fix it! Same w/ the battery! Plus, amazing roadside assistance - 5 yrs, unlimited miles, & average response time = 12 minutes! Added peace of mind for the car my wife and child will drive most often. Highly recommend this over anything in or even above its class!

Great car for the money - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By rma - February 1 - 10:00 amMy husband and I fell in love with this car and also added crome rims to it. We like that it has enough leg room and is comfortable. The cargo area is spacious for a small SUV. We have had numerous Suburbans and Tahoes and now it was time for something smaller. The warranty was a big plus also. Only thing that I wish they had were power seats.

Love our Santa Fe Sports - 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
By donnie71281 - January 30 - 9:29 pmWe purchased 2 SFS in November. Mine is the 2.0T and the other is the 2.4. Both are exceptional CUVs. The AWD has been wonderful in the snow too. The 2.4 get 22 in the city and the 2.0T has been getting 21. Highway for the 2.0T averages stays between 26-28. For an AWD CUV I am happy with the MPG. Ive had experience with the 2.0T in my 2011 Optima. Though the HP is less in the SFS I am more than pleased with the power. The only issues we have had is trying to decide which one to take!! Absolutely love the purchases we made.

My Hyundai Nightmare - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Ed K - January 29 - 2:46 amIve owned 2 Santa Fes (2001 & 2004). Both had engine failures and had to have their small blocks replaced at around 60,000 miles. Both failed on the freeway. Both had all their regularly scheduled maintenance performed by the book. These 2 freeway failures placed me in very serious safety conditions. The 2004 failed at night in the middle of the Arizona Desert- I was driving at 70 mph when the engine lost power & made a terrible noise. I end up getting towed over 150 miles to Hyundai Dealer. Small block failed (60,068 miles – 68 miles past the warranty). Hyundai initially refused to pay for the repair; but, after a tremendous amount of effort on my part; they finally cover 30%

i love this suv - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Lori - January 28 - 8:03 pmits the best looking suv to me out there. i wish it was just a little more quiet when driving, but for the whole package for the price, i cant ask for anything else except for long reliability, which i hope and prays keep up for as long as i have this suv. but i love it all around, especially looks and price.
