Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

I think this is one of the best little SUVs we could have purchased. Everything is set up for the driver and passenger. Its comfortable to drive for long distances and the road noise is non-existent. I am very impressed. I will be buying another one for myself, so my wife can have hers back. I took my parents down and they also bought one.

  • Good car but not a great one - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

The interior comfort and the ride is very good for a low priced mid-size Crossover/SUV. Ample power. Good traction. Decent cargo space, although the rear seat fold-down configuration is burdensome compared to other makes. Reliability is fair. I had to replace parts on this car that I never had to replace on any of my Nissan vehicles (Ive had 9 of them!). And my dealers service is mediocre compared to Nissan. There really is a difference in quality, and I think Nissan is worth the extra money. Considering a Rogue, Murano, or Mazda CX7 when I replace this Santa Fe.

Best investment I ever made. The car handles excellent. Very roomy inside. Plenty of storage space. Drives very fast, although slightly slower on pick-up, but I am not a race driver. This is the car to have. You will love it.

Just bought this and it looks great from the outside. The inside is pretty good and I recommend the leather seats. The dash and the interior controls are very nice looking and extremely functional. The car drives very well with the larger engine and definitely handles well in passing.

  • Nice ride - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought the 2005 Santa Fe used just a week ago. The gas mileage is a bit lower than what I expected for a small V6. The 2.7 is just a little bit underpowered for a vehicle of this size. It is very comfortable for an SUV and handles very well. A solid vehicle with a lot of nice standard features. Roomy interior and sporty design. Controls easily reached and easy access getting in and out of the vehicle. Roomy cargo space.

  • Great performance SUV for a low buck - 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

It took one test drive in the Santa Fe SE to seal the deal for me. I am 64" and this car has enough room for five of me. It drives and handles like a truck; if youre into sharp handling this may not be for you. It handles bumps and rough terrain really well, and is loaded with power options, bluetooth, and other neat accessories. On my model there is a beautiful wood trim lining that accents the interior, and the paint is sharp and glossy. On the freeway, the shifting is smooth, the kick down with the V6 gets you to a quick 80-90 mph boost in no time, and braking is a breeze.

Much quieter and better ride than 2003 Sante Fe. Many more features, bigger and more comfortable seats

Great car. No problems and assembly and finish are flawless. Gas mileage is poor and steering tends to be a bit heavy. Aside from this a great family and trip car.

  • Great Value - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought the Santa Fe after my wifes van was totaled. My wife is short so driving position and comfort were VERY important for her. Looked at ALL the competition. Came down to a used Toyota Highlander or new Santa Fe for about the same cost. Honestly, we liked the Highlanders better, but the Santa Fe was the best value, had less road noise, and had many features the Toyota didnt, including a long warranty. Just got back from an 1100 mile family trip (4 of us). Great ride, but disappointed with gas mileage. Only getting about 19.5 on the highway. But if the Electronic Stability Control was turned off, got about 22 mpg. This has to be fixed!
