Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Love It! - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

I did extensive research before test driving the Sante Fe. I was impressed with the above average scores in every category by Consumer Reports. I fell in love after driving it! It is so comfortable, quiet, smooth, great turning radius, and roomy. It is also so much easier for me to get my kids in and out than it was in my Jeep.

I have had nothing but fun tooling around in my santa fe. It handles real smooth and is easy to drive. The engine is quiet but the cockpit with the windows open is noisy when you are in a confined area with traffic. A little more sound proofing would have been nice to block out the road sounds. The visibility at night is great the headlights along with the fog lights you can see pretty far ahead. I have the LX model which did not have a sun/moon roof option at the time of purchase other than that this is a great suv at a real value price and a great warranty. I would recommend this vehicle and the nice dealorship where I bought it.

  • Nice appearance for a piece of junk - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought the most expensive Hyundai I had higher expectations due to false advertising. Lower gas mileage than advertised I get 16 miles a gallon highway. Dealership says its the additives in the gas that only affects Santa Fe B.S. High cost for maintenance and the car runs worse with every service they do. The transfer case was just replaced and its still making grinding noises and the gear shift needed to be replaced as well, frozen wipers wont move even my small economy car had good wipers. I could go on but there may not be enough space here...very dissatisfied. I wish I could get my money back!

I am glad we beat our hesitation to purchase the new Santa Fe. after 4mos and 8K I am extreamly happy and sattisfied. Spent two months comparing to Honda, Acura, Nissan, Toyota and dollar for dollar the Hyundai was the best choice.

  • Excellent Little SUV - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

With two little children, I needed a midsized suv that made me and my children feel safe. This is a cute, heavy duty truck that drives like a car. The interior is great and I dont take a beating at the pump!!

Ive had my Sante Fe for about 7 months now and I love it!!!! For the money not only is it stylish but roomy and it has luxury items in it too. When I drive it I feel special. I have over 10,000 miles on it with 3 long trips. If someone is interested in a small SUV than I would recommend the Sante Fe.

I love the way this vehicle handles on the Interstates and the gas mileage is really good. Plenty of power and very quiet with almost no wind or road noise. I have used the 3rd row seats several times and had no complaints.

The vehicle is comfortable but has limited driver leg room. The power seat adjustment seems limited and hard to stay comfortable on any trip longer than an hour. Dont expect great gas mileage - 22 hwy with air. City about 16-17. 2200 rpm at 70 mph. Stereo, trip computer, heated seats are very good. Traction is very nice - you feel very safe even during rain. Rear cargo area is well designed and the sun shade works well - A/C is extremely good and cools the car quickly - Temp control could be more user friendly - Nice acceleration and good braking - Overall the car is a good value for $20k - $25k but if I had to do it all over again, Id probably purchase the Tucson - more bells and whistle
