Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

  • Never Again Jeeps for me - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Only half the vehicle a Grand Cherokee for 3/4 the price. Comes with lots of options but they dont preform very well. The 4wd drive dosent work well if you spin your tires. It cuts in and out and at times the pauses leave you with no power going to any wheel. The interior is roomy but components are lacking in quality. The rear seat bottems are made entirely of foam (no frame) and dont lay flat when folded down. The floor carpet and mats are econo big time. The vehicle must draw its outside air close to the road because the exhaust flumes from other cars get sucked inside big time. Lots of AC in the winter because of using the recirculating feature. The body and doors are quality.

I was impressed with the Santa Fe the first time I saw it, bought the Limited version, based on the good reviews on the internet. Now I work for a car rental company and I drive all kind of vehicles. I realize the Santa Fe is hard to compare to any of these. The Japanese competition is at least 1 step behind. You wont regret buying this car rather than a more established brand that costs much more. Read and compare the reviews and youll see that not even a 100.000 dollars Porsche is not perfect. And they had no recalls for the Santa Fe and if you watch the crash test videos, youll really want one. If you buy one in Edmonton Alberta get it at the West End Hyundai.

  • AMAZING. - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Fuel economy not the greatest. But compared to a truck, its great. The only thing Im not totally impressed by is the 2nd and 3rd row air ducts for heating. they dont blow as hard or as hot of air as the front do. Other than that it truly is the smartest and best buy Ive done in a long time. Great job to Hyundai, and building vehicles that extremely reliable.

  • Veeeeeery nice - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Very nice ride for the price. Paid about $5 under invoice when all of the optional equipment I had thrown in for free was considered. I felt I got a fair shake on this purchase. Didnt appreciate the high-pressure sales and finance techniques and questionable business ethics.

Great car, I have had it 2 months and love it.

  • still happy - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Im still happy with my Santa Fe. After 45k miles all Ive done is change the brakes and have it aligned. My only complaints are: it could use a little more pep when pulling out onto the freeway, and it could use a little more legroom. But neither have been a problem so far. If the next 45k miles are as good as the first, i will likely buy again.

  • Really unique SUV - my second Santa Fe - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Dear Sirs, I was also the owner of the previous model of Hyundai Santa Fe for 6 years without any problems, and I will say only that the new model 2007 of Santa Fe really presents the huge step forward and is completely comparable to Japanese and European SUVs. Recently it was comparably tested with Volkswagen Tuareg by Auto-Bild in Germany and both have been completely equalized. With my compliments ! Boris B from Slovenia P.S. Owing to the fact that I could not choose the right style as you do not offer the diesel motor 2.2 CDRi / 150 HP, I have signed the first one on the your list !

  • Three years old and still like new - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

My 2002 Santa Fe just turned 3 years old and it still runs like the day I got it. Never a second of trouble. This SUV has the quality, power, ride, roominess, and style to equal its more expensive competitors. Most important, its extremely reliable.

  • not happy - 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

my hyundai santa fe stopped running in 2006 and i had to have almost three thousand dollars worth of work done on it in which the hyundai dealer ship did not honner the waranty. 2009 it stop running again, this time it cost five hundred dollars. now 2010 its not running again. same thing wrong with it. i am a older lady that has always taken care of my cars and just wanted something i did NOT have to keep putting money into, and also i cant afford to get it fixed so here i am without a car to drive.the body and the interior look like new.this has not been a dependable car and i would never buy another one again and would never sell the idea to anyone else. VERY UNHAPPY!!!

  • New 2012 Santa Fe - 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

Purchased this car new & do not like it. Seems to hesitate while accellerating. At a stop light, stop sign, or going slow when you press the accelerater the car hesitates and takes a second to finally go. Cannot make any fast decisions. Tried to go into traffice from a stop sign quickly, car hesitated & I almost go into a accident. Makes you drive completely different from the way you normally drive. Does not happen every time, but 2-3 times a day. Took car back to the dealer, they test drove, pulled the computer results, said all looks fine. Was told the computer controls the accelerator & it takes a while for the accelerator to go to the computer then back to the accelerator.Trying to unload it
