Honda has made a number of enhancements to the 2004 Honda S2000. Most importantly, a larger 2.2-liter engine has been fitted. This, along with revised transmission gearing, is meant to improve power delivery. Other changes include updated suspension tuning, 17-inch wheels (16s were the previous standard), upgraded brakes, larger tailpipes and restyled front and rear bumpers with new headlights and taillights. Inside, there's a new center console (with two cupholders and a storage tray) and a bit more shoulder, elbow and hiproom for the driver and passenger. All Honda cars have a new seatbelt reminder system this year.

• Agile chassis, rev-happy engine, minimalist design, optional hardtop, high level of performance for the price.

• Still not much low-end torque, no passenger airbag cut-off switch.

  Although its the first convertible that I own I have driven several over the years. The pick up on this one is just fabulous. The look is classic sports car, no compromises. The seats are very comfortable and tuck you into the car nicely. The design & location of the radio controls is great. The car does skid when its wet so its an adjustment for me. Heats & Cools quickly!

  Feeling the road and, lightning response is what makes this car fun. It feels like it always has to be restrained because it really wants to go. Driving it will put a smile on your face.

  We bought a 2003 model in August and enjoyed it. We joined a S2000 club and had rides thru the hill country nearby. We learned of the changes in the 2004 model and we decided to trade up to one. We got the new one mid February and are very glad to have done the upgrade to the 2004. The ride is smoother and with the larger engine it has a lot more power in the lower gears. I could not believe there could be an improvement over the great 2003 that we had, but I sure love driving it.

  The S2000 is for those fun-loving people. It drives so smoothly, and takes turns even smoother. Sexy styling, and the interior looks like a cockpit. Real cool. System sucks but who cares, because if you get this car and dont pimp it out you dont know what youre missing out on. TURNS HEADS WHEREVER YOU GO. Who care about torque when you got everyone staring at you driving down the street with the top down and system up?

  Very happy with my S2000. Plenty has been written about this car and it lives up to all of it. Great performance for the price.
