This Year's Model Updates:

The Honda Accord -- one of America's favorite vehicles -- has been substantially changed for 2003. Continuing as a sedan and a coupe, the 2003 Honda Accord features more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, increased safety and higher levels of interior comfort. A voice-activated GPS navigation system is optional, and a sporty EX coupe debuts in early 2003.

Pros:
  • Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined powertrains, comfortable driver seat, outstanding optional navigation system.
Cons:
  • Missing key features, relatively small trunk, mushy handling with V6.

  • So Much for Honda Reliablity... - 2003 Honda Accord

This Honda is the second one Ive ever owned. And may be the last Ill ever own. I had an Acura before, worked beautifully. So I thought hey, lets buy an Accord. So very disappointed. After taking it to the local dealer and had them swap the wiper motor (factory recall) the LCD display for the clock/temp/cd info stopped working. Every time we hit a bump itd go in and out. Transmission is NO GOOD. Slips in 2nd and 3rd. And twice quit working all together on the Highway, so very dangerous when suddenly you just lose drive power all together. Dont look to customer service for help, nope, they wont do a thing for you. Car was under 100K miles. I mean come on.

Bought the car new in 03...racked up 156k miles since. Overall a great car, minus a few issues. Reliability is great only issue was a radio display that went out after 100k-Honda paid half. Engine still runs as smooth as when I bought the car. Great acceleration for a 4-banger. The bad: the rattles in the dashboard have been an ongoing issue since the car was new. Sounds like a tap-dancing gerbil lives in my dashboard...seats are pretty stiff, too. Overall, a very good car, minus the rattles. Still getting about 32 mpg- mostly highway. No issues with the manual transmission.

  • Great car for the price - 2003 Honda Accord

Bought mine brand new for $21,000 out the door and very satisfied with the overall car. At 125,000 miles now, this car is rock solid and I commute with it daily. Oil change every 5,000 miles. So far the only major problem was the driver- side automatic door lock mechanism failed at about 105,000 mi which cost me about $600 to fix but thats because I used to keep pressing the unlock button on my key fob to blink the lights as I walk to the car, haha.

  • An ex Ford Taurus Owner - 2003 Honda Accord

A traveling salesman by trade, my first Honda Accord has been a very good purchase. This review should touch on my previous experience buying Ford Taurus as the previous cars uded for the last ten years. All I can say after many painful years buying and fixing Ford products I can not believe it took me so long so finally buy the Honda. I just hit 100,000 miles on my 2003 Accord Lx with no trouble what so ever. I performed the standard maintenance items and drove the car this long with no troulble what so ever. If this was my last two years typically I would get maybe 36 to 40 thousand miles before serious trouble with Transmissions or electric problems would occur. I will buy another Accord

We own three Honda now. A 1992 Accord EX, 2001 Odyssey EX and now the 2003 Accord V6 EX. After having the this car 5 months now I still can not beleave how much fun it is to drive. In fact I have 13,000 miles already. That with 29 MPG average, I just can not wait to go no my next trip. I have had some very minor problems, but Honda has fixed them all.

  • My search is over - 2003 Honda Accord

Within two years, Ive owned a new Grand Am, a new Mustang(V-6), and in December bought a new Honda Accord 4 cyl. 5-speed manual w/leather. loved it soooo much i bumped up to the V-6 6- speed manual four days ago. had to have it. Honda makes an incredible car at a reasonable price that makes you feel as though youre riding in the lap of luxury and having fun at the same time. This is my dream car.

Ive had a few cars prior to the Accord, but this car is the BOMB. Its exactly like my friends 7 series BMW w/the exception of cost & engine liter size. Its got 260 HP & its a scream to drive. When you pull out into 60 mph traffic, you take off & they cant catch you anytime soon.

This car is quick..I have kept up with some of the best road cars without a problem. With this setup 3.0 V6 and the 6-speed manual transmission I am getting roughly 32 mpg city/highway combined.
