Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Better than my Volkswagen - 2008 Honda Accord
By JDW - July 7 - 7:05 pmVery comfortable. Nice quality Leather compared to other comparable cars that offer leather interiors. I hear the road noise more in this car compared to my others. I have had issues with the brakes in this car since the first week I have had it. Drove a 1987 with brake problems as well. Is that a Honda thing? I enjoy the ride in this car, feel its still reliable. I had several problems with the ignitions shorting out on me when I would go to start the car. North American Honda, NOR any dealership I took it too could fix this issue. So its still an issue.

Transmission dooms this car - 1998 Honda Accord
By Matthew - July 7 - 3:05 pmI bought my 1998 Accord EX V6 new. It is my third accord and I love Hondas. The car is now 11 years old and has 137K miles on it. It still drives like the day I bought it and almost looks it too. So with all that youd think this is a great used car. NO NO NO. This generation Accord has been plagued with faulty transmissions. My first transmission failed at 69K miles and Honda claimed it was not part of the recall. I went to arbitration and got Honda to pay for half of the new transmission. Fast forward to June 2010 and 137K miles and the transmission fails AGAIN nearly 69K after the first. The dealer offered to pay 25% and I still paid $2500. Still did it as the car is otherwise terrific.

Accord is the right car for me - 2010 Honda Accord
By Ron - July 7 - 12:55 pmFull disclosure, I still own a 2001 Accord. Went shopping for several months for mid size 4 door sedans and dealt with a lot of car sales people. I drove Mazda, Ford, Nissan, Subaru, Acura, Toyota, Lexus and Hyundai, then went to the Honda dealer and found I wasted a bunch of time. For the money the Accord while not perfect meets my driving needs. 4 cyl 190 hp. is fine and have had no problems. One slight fit and finish problem that is fixed. 4500 miles and expect no problems. Do your homework BEFORE you buy any car. YouÂ’ll be much happier with your selection.

Pleasure to Drive - 2010 Honda Accord
By Jeff - July 7 - 9:25 amI just purchased two weeks ago put over 500 miles on already, it is really a pleasure to drive. The seats are a little stiff, however I have some lower back issues and prefer the harder feel, although my wife does not. I hope that two weeks of driving qualifies me to give a review. I know that I found all of the reviews listed on this site as well as other sites helpful in my decision making. You have to take some of the negative comments with a grain of salt because there is always going to be some that cannot be pleased or some may have a bad experience. Perhaps I should have waited until after we take the car on our vacation to give my review oh well. Thus far I am loving it!

Hmm........Honda--such a great car?? - 2001 Honda Accord
By TAZKBJR - July 6 - 6:24 pmOk, I am the second owner of this car. I bought this 01 Honda Accord from my step-mom at the beginning of May 2010. As I write this review, the check engine light has come on (and gone off) twice. In the length of time that I have "known" this car, there have been multiple problems. I know for a fact the trans. has been replaced twice, first time was to replace the original faulty trans, and the second replace was because of a faulty trans. and it was within three weeks of first replacement. This is my first Honda and I am truly wondering what is so great! My 94 Escort has fewer problems than this "wonderful and reliable" Honda, my next car probably wont be a Honda.

No regrets - 2010 Honda Accord
By juspassinthru - July 4 - 7:38 pmI have owned this vehicle for one month & have put about 1800 miles on it. Wind noise is not any worse than other cars in the same price range, ride quality is good, gas mileage could be better (avg 21-22 mpg around town) Over all I have no regrets. Nice Car.

Might buy American next time - 2008 Honda Accord
By honda4 - July 4 - 6:51 pmThis is my 3rd accord and this one had the most problems. All the power locks failed and were replaced, but it caused me to get locked out of my car one time. The rear brakes are 90% worn I was told at only 27k mi. There was a misc evaporator valve problem with the emissions.

Happy Customer - 2008 Honda Accord
By Guy - July 4 - 6:09 pmI just turned 25000 miles and had my car inspected. So far, brakes are fine as I had the dealer inspect them. The car has given me all that I wanted and if the rear brake problem does not rear its ugly head, I will be delighted with this vehicle. This cars handles very well and is extremely comfortable on long trips. Performance is good and highway gas mileage is around 32 mpg and 24 mpg city. No problems at all as yet, so to date, I am very satisfied. The road noise is higher than I would like, but it is strictly tire noise. Road surfaces affect the degree of noise there is. No wind or outside noises, only tire noise on particular surfaces, so I feel this issue has been overstated.

Recommend this car for performance - 2009 Honda Accord
By Farrell - July 4 - 3:10 pmI purchased this vehicle a year ago and work with the same dealer, in Michigan,I have worked with over 15 years-Honda Bloomfield-these folks just get better and better! The 2009 Honda Accords traction in winter snow and ice is phenomenal-best Ive ever driven. I count on reliability in any car I drive and this vehicle provides outstanding reliability. Seating comfort needs to be upgraded and the road noise needs to be reduced to bring this vehicle to near perfect for a "smooth ride." I reliably get 33.3 miles a gallon in this 2009 Honda Accord.

3-Year Review - Excellent Car! - 2006 Honda Accord
By NOVA_CMUTR - July 4 - 10:54 amI have owned this car for 3 years - highly dependable, reliable and comfortable. I use this car to commute in the brutal DC area traffic. Great acceleration (V6), braking and maneuverability. Gas mileage could be better - 22 city/28 hwy. As others have noted, there are occasional problems with the 3rd gear synch on the manual transmission, the cars only flaw. This is my 3rd Accord great performance and reliability for the price!
