Model Overview:

Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.

You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

I previously owned a jaguar which I loved very much, but I also hated. The car drove me nuts being in & out of the shop. I went to Honda because my husband owns a Honda Si which he loves. I did not want a Honda, I was hesitant about going, but then again I needed something reliable. I test drove a few cars but was looking for something with speed. They gave me the V6 Accord to test drive. I liked it, it was nice, & had the speed I was looking for. I was hesitant about getting it but I needed a car that I could depend on. So I bought it & the more I drove it I loved it even more!

  • New EPA ratings get it right - 2005 Honda Accord

I purchased this car at the end of the 05 model year when my dealer was offering "employee pricing". I considered the hybrid and a new 06 non-hybrid since they were the same price. I gave up the larger wheels, moon roof and revised exterior trim for the promise of better fuel mileage. I felt a bit cheated for the first months until the EPA released its test results from its new (more realistic) testing method. The technology works seamlessly together, with no indication of the battery or 3 cylinder modes engaging/disengaging. The auto stop is the only item that takes a few days to get used to. When you are rolling to a stop the engine shuts off while the car is still moving.

The O7 for my wife is the second in this series of Accord. I have an O4 that is leaving for a TL. Love the car. Obviously with the 04, as well as multiple Accords previously, we knew what to expect. Only regret is not getting the navigation system...wife chose the V6 over that, but I had to get her a Garmin Nuvi660 for Christmas!

Only had the car for 1 year and the rear inner pads and roters needed to be replaced already. I bought the car brand new and now only has 18,000 miles. Honda is NOT doing anything about this known issue problem. If you google "2008 Honda Accord brake problem" you will see a thousand complaints about the defective brake system. Honda should be held responsible for defective brake system. Right rear inner pad wears out around 15,000 miles.

  • A RELIABLE TIN CAN : - 2000 Honda Accord

THIS IS MY 11TH HONDA. ITS A GERAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY. THE ENGINE IS RESPONSIVE, AC & AUDIO IS OK, THE WIPER INSERTS WEAR OUT VERY FAST, & THE REAR END CAN COME AROUND IN AN OFF-CAMBER TURN IF YOU DONT PAY ATTENTION. PAINT IS ACCEPTABLE BUT THE DASH HAS CREEKED FROM DAY 1 ON WASHBOARD ROADS.

  • Jack of all trades, master of none - 2013 Honda Accord

Honda really lost their way when they came out with the 9th gen. Accord. Expecting this to be the best Accord ever, it turned out to be one of the worst. They got rid of the classic K series engine and replaced it with their new "Earth Dreams" engine. The new engine is missing that classic, zippy, rev-happy Honda nature, and now it just feels like a typical plain jane Nissan or Toyota engine. The new CVT is awful. If this is the "best" CVT on the market, I am terrified for what other CVTs must be like to drive. You plant your foot on the throttle and it takes the transmission 5-10 seconds to catch up. When it finally does catch up it gives you too much power when you dont want it. The transmission also hesitates and jerks violently in certain driving situations. The engine is very slow to rev unlike Honda engines of yesteryear and they just transformed it from a Honda into...something else. Ride quality is unnecessarily stiff and passengers have told me that they cannot stand riding in my car because every bump in the road transmits into the cabin and it gives passengers a headache. Im also disappointed in the handling and the highway performance. Around town, the car feels big and heavy. On the highway it feels somewhat lumbering, the electric steering feels too disconnected from the front wheels to accurately gauge curves in the roadway. Curves on the highway feel somewhat scary in the Accord. You enter a slight curve at 65 mph and the body starts gradually leaning too much towards one direction making it feel like youre about to lose control over the vehicle. The brakes are quite non-linear and the car has a stubbornness to it while driving. Overall, the driving experience is not memorable in any sense of the word. It drives, but unlike Accords of the past, it drives lacking all remnants of character and personality. I always thought that the Accord was the one family sedan that did things differently, but with this new one that is no longer the case. They made it feel like everything else in the class. The only options that stand out anymore are the Legacy, Fusion, and Sonata. Very disappointing vehicle. Honda lost their way.

Definitely a great choice if wanting to save money on gas. I went from spending $150 per week in an 8 cylinder SUV to $60 per week.

  • Overall a nice car - 2008 Honda Accord

Leased in Feb 2008 as a replacement to a Pilot, which had poor gas mileage. I do miss the carry and load capacity of the Pilot, but the Accord gets decent gas mileage by comparison (about 24 MPG combined, around 28 MPG hwy). The 4 cylinder is plenty powerful for me. Cant beat the price I got ($3300 down, $159/mo) for a 3 year/12,000 mile per year lease. Being on the West Coast I was able to pick between Accords made in the U.S. and one made in Japan, and chose the JHM VIN number. So far no problems, ride is smooth, a bit loud on rough roads. This is my 10th Honda, and I continue to be a Honda fan.

I love this car. I bought it new and have not had anything fail yet, except for a noise in the clutch pedal. The pedal was replaced under warranty.

  • Excellent Value--Top Notch for the price - 2004 Honda Accord

In comparing an almost loaded-out model (no nav--couldnt justify the price) to an Acura TL, this car is a better value, no question. You lose 30 hp, no xenon lights, more pedestrian tires and rims, and a slightly less sporty appearance along with a less refined interior. But the upside--you save 7- 10 grand. You still have much better than average performance (on 87 vs. 92 octane fuel), very nice heated leather seats, a killer stereo with XM, and a good driving experience. The car does what you want, when you want it to. I cant think of a better car for the price. And reliability: Ive owned 4 Hondas, and never had major issues with any of them.
