Overview & Reviews
Few vehicles from overseas manufacturers have garnered as much respect in North America as the Honda Accord. It hasn't achieved this status by being glamorous, sexy or thrilling. Instead, Honda just seems to have its finger on the pulse of what Americans value most. Take an Accord for a spin and you'll find it to be comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. It's also backed by strong resale value and a solid reputation for reliability.
You'll find that certain competing sedans and coupes are quicker, more prestigious or simply less expensive than the Accord. What's special about the Honda Accord, though, is its completeness. It scores well across a broader range of categories than practically any family-friendly sedan or coupe on the market. When examined from this holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why the Accord has become an automotive icon and remains one of our editors' top recommendations.

Fourth Honda - 2008 Honda Accord
By Bluesky - September 11 - 12:03 pmI have owed a 1999, 2003, 2006 and this one, a 2008 EX V6 w/nav. All of them were quality vehicles with excellent service records. I have never replaced more than a light bulb in any Honda I ever owned. The first of the 4 was a 4 cyl, the last three V6 and I prefer the V6 because it runs smoother and with the additional power does not tend to shift as often. The 08 Accord has a more firm ride than the 03 and 06 (I like this) the slightly longer and wider size is noticeable, and I thought the older models were big enough. Trunk space while is similar seems a little less usable, especially with the nav DVD box in the trunk. Mileage looks like it will be a little less than the older V6 Hondas

Good car bad radio and dealer - 2001 Honda Accord
By Hello y - September 10 - 10:00 amThe accord is a very good car. I purchased a 4 banger so power is low, but fuel mileage is very good. Quite a bit of road noise. Great suspension and brakes (abs w/ex model). Car seems to require very little maintenance, unless you follow the dealer suggestions which will bankrupt you and probably do more damage than good to a very well assembled car. Rear seating is average and trunk is small. Radio reception is very poor and I was very pleased to find out the dealer could have cared less. Their loss as I no longer have the car serviced there and will not repeat purchase.

I LOVE this car!!! - 1995 Honda Accord
By asp - September 10 - 10:00 amWe have had this car for over 7 years and have NO problems with it. The ONLY problem is that my husband believes it will run forever and hell never have to buy me a another new car again. Really we are looking at buying a new car, but have no intentions of selling this one. This is the best car Ive ever owned. Were planning on saving it for our children to drive as their first car (theyre only 6 and 3 years old). Theres no doubt in my mind it will last that long!!

Disappointed - 2008 Honda Accord
By Chris - September 9 - 12:30 am3000 Miles on my new long awaited 08 V6 Sedan. This car is a nightmare. Shifting is up and down, surging and vibration at higher speeds is ridiculous like I have 4 unbalanced tires ( I donÂ’t). I am shocked that Honda would put this into production. The constant shifting and changing of the VCM is maddening and almost can make you nauseous. The vibration juts adds another layer of frustration. Dealer has the car now for the last week!! They agree itÂ’s not right and working with Honda to see what can be done. So far the picture looks bleak. Buyers be informed!

w/ the 5 speed=perfect daily driver - 1998 Honda Accord
By Nate - September 8 - 9:42 amClear coat peel is a major problem with this particular year and model Honda, first year of water born clear coat as opposed to oil. Motor itself is bulletproof reliable, think AMC/Jeep 4.0, Ford 4.6, GM 3.8, etc. These motors are that rugged! Use a high quality oil/filter and change them every 5k miles and these things will literally run forever. Do yourself a favor for both drivings sake, as well as stated reliability, and find yourself one equipped with the 5 speed manual transmission. Currently at 214,000 miles and climbing on mine. Dollar for dollar you will not find a better daily driver. First year for the transponder key which is huge on these cars in terms of theft deterrent. My only gripe is the lack of leg room in the front seats for plus 6 footers, and the lack of availability of a V6/manual trans Sedan in this generation.

2000 EX v6 - 2000 Honda Accord
By Rhonda - September 7 - 11:23 pmI bought the car new. Had no problems till around 80,000 miles. Transmission started to slip. Took it to dealer who said there was no problem, changed the transmission fluid. Since then, transmission has gotten worse and Honda will not help with the problem. They will do a 50/50 on cost of refurbished transmission since I am now over the 100,000 extension, over $1500 my cost! Dealer said they do not work on transmissions, only replace them. Now have over 114,000 miles on car and other than transmission, have no other major complaints about the car. Wind noise on higway is loud, but I just turn up the radio. Honda of Ocala is a terrible dealership all around - sales, service, etc

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - 2004 Honda Accord
By danandjeanne - September 5 - 10:00 amBZZZZ, thats what I hear in my left ear as I drive. I took it in for warranty service and the initial thought it was something that had ot be spot welded behind the drivers door. Didnt work so they installed a new door panel, didnt work so now its back in for a new door lock assembly. Its annoying having a 3 day old car in longer than I have owned it. It also needed an alignment after i took it in for the first warranty service which they attirbuted to it being transported on a truck. Otherwise I think it is a great car, but I havent really had a chance to enjoy it yet. I also noticed a bit of vibration coming off the gas pedal and a subtle whine.

Doesnt live up to its promise - 2003 Honda Accord
By hmurphy - September 5 - 10:00 amWhile this car seems like a great deal, its not everything it seems. Its definitely fun to drive, but the brake pads and/or rotors have been repaired or replaced 3 times in 15 months of ownership, with no fix in sight. This is not an isolated problem--many 2003/2004 owners are in the same boat. The transmission is currently under recall as well. Though I like the feel of the car, the continuing brake issues are just too much. Its really a shame.

Honda Accord review - 2006 Honda Accord
By Jotorn - September 4 - 10:23 pmLove the fit and finish, and the interior materials. Traded in my 2002 Lexus ES 300. The Honda is tighter and unlike the lexus, my transmission is flawlesssly smooth. I wouldnt recommend any other brand to anyone and I have been in the business for 15 years. Cant wait to see what the new one will look like! Im sure Ill be a fan as well. I cant tell you what I would improve on I had a lot of choices to make when I chose this one, I feel my choice was best, and have nothing but good things to tell anyone looking to buy an Accord.
